So true about hand made surprise gifts! Now I always talk first!! Also, when making a little ear warmer for my grandson, (in the colors he likes, of course!) I would show him the project at various stages of the process . I found he appreciated it so much more than if I just handed him the finished piece. Every time I listen to you I realize how much I don’t know!! Thanks for all you do !!
Great suggestions for gift knitting...a gift certificate and then their input into design, colour and even yarn is much more considerate than "surprises". I've used the Alter Knits stranded colourwork book with great delight. I made 4 different sized hats using the bicycle graphic! Thanks for another entertaining and informative podcast. HUgs
Ooh... I’m intrigued by the magnet/button on the gray sweater! I’m on the verge of frogging a cardigan, but it might be salvageable if I could add some afterthought buttons! Can you point me towards a source or some more information? Thanks for another great video.
I've talked about it a few times. Here's one video where I mentioned it: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_rB8kR9SESk.html You can check the video description for a time stamped link to that section of the video.
I love the hat pattern! I am from South Dakota. Maybe someday we can meet since you are so close. I would love to learn more about knitting since I am basically new to it. I have only been knitting for around two years. I love the sweater. Cables are my favorite to do. I have never tried to make a sweater yet. Thank you for showing your library! There's a couple of them that I would love to get.
I thought making a donation would give me access to the instructions for the mock cable hat but I cannot find any such instructions. I wish that was clear when I watched the video.
There is a knitting bingo card you can play while knitting in public. Squares for the crochet comment, you should sell your stuff, I don't have the patience for that, etc. LOL
I have a pattern that is twisted stitches that look like cable, but it’s abbreviation is H5F or H5B, which is not a cable abbreviation. As you can see it is requesting 5 stitches instead of even stitches. If you can please help me understand this pattern.
If you have questions about a specific pattern and technique associated with it, the best way to get help is on Ravelry, where you can share a link to the pattern page (which hopefully has a photograph). A pattern should include a list of abbreviations used in the pattern, with a description of how the technique represented by the abbreviation is worked.
