That first question "tell me about a time where you had to validate the assumptions underlying a direct reports project Dude, that question is vague as hell. Nobody is going to know what you're looking for there. Unless that's the test...how do does this person handle a question that doesn't mean anything? I felt that feeling where you have anxiety on someone else's behalf. Otherwise, interesting to watch. I've been interviewing people for QA positions for years. It's truly remarkable to see so many similarities with my own experiences. Good job!
Hello. I have been in QA leadership Mgr/Director for 20 years. I would love to perform a mock interview (and/or be on the panel). I have hired ~200 people in my career so am extremely adept with the process. Let me know how to join. Thanks

listening to first candidate , all she kept on mentioning was i automated. She moreover sound like a senior QA not a QA manager that too atypical manual qa. And then she could not gave any pf the technical questions answer based on automation properly. However questions were on point. Gave a lot of content for the prep
Just heard this complete session and I must say Jeff drove the conversation brilliantly and his questions were to the point, loved the entire session and the valuable feedback that you both gave 👏🏻
Thanks for the nice video..One question how we can define the difference in roles and responsibilities for QA lead and QA manager, also difference between QA assurance vs QA engineering
To be very honest, the questions are very important and realistic. But after listening to this long videos people may not get that benefitted as the interviewees having less knowledge and confidence. It would be a great idea to post the questions along in the description of the videos at least. All the very best. You are doing a gtreattt work. Love from India 🇮🇳.
Indeed Great to listen this!! I have a curious question, If I have a current position as QA Lead and if I am taking an interview of QA Manager then is there anything else I need to add/improve apart from this conversation? Thanks.
Architect is a technical position, and doesn’t include managerial responsibilities. QA manager is managing people and QA processes. Very often when these roles could be combined. It is not rare when QA managers are also developing architecture especially for QA automation
