as an experienced mun'er, half of the people are just trying to pick fights with me because i have a small country. pointless if you ask me. EDIT: imma have mun now, wish me luck 🤞! It's abt genocide prevention if you're wondering. EDIT 2: I won as russian federation among 98 countries!! EDIT 3: Im selected for a national level mun conference in new delhi! Im malta btw
@@Waeng_ tbh yes, do not try to copy your opening speech from Google because the chair might ask you to send your speech via email and cut marks if you have copied it from external source. Whenever someone raises a point against you, always ask what is their source because not all websites are allowed to be used in MUN. DO NOT HESITATE while your opening speech because you are judged, you are also judged for dressing sense, voice modulation grammar etc. Always have your country's ndc updated so you can answer questions on the spot. For opening speech, research on the topic first, then about the contributions of your county in the particular topic, then after reading and understand about the topic and your country's position on the topic, write your opening speech. For the draft resolutions, don't go along with your friendly countries instead go with the country's which are more sensible. That is all the important advices from me.
@@lxmengreat advice, really helpful. I have a query, for example im a representative of the country Kenya, so I tell about the strengths of my country right away??
I have my first MUN in 15 days and I am kinda nervous but kinda excited too.. if it goes good.. thats great and if it goes shit.. well I will be bad at smtg new and will learn smtg I lacked before
@@honeyglows5020 hey! I had my first mun last year during oct at a very big and prestigious school and the experience i had was a blast! Since it was my very first time, I failed to do proper thorough research and so I just sat there the entire time observing the other delegates and goodness gracious they were so cool. You don't have to be terrified at all. Just do some thorough research based on your portfolio of your preferred committee and summarise them down into a short speech of 2 mins and be confident when it's your turn to speak. And if your mod caucs has been discussed, then try to prepare them beforehand the debate sessions. And if you're given any hypothetical situations then try to gather all the information you have prepared. Just keep these things in mind and your first mun will go fantastic! Also I've got another mun on July and I'm very excited now as I'm thoroughly prepared. All the best to us both!
