1/3 of the infamous Tramen break.

But tramen break appears in 1996 (DJ Trace's 'Mutant Revisited') while Flow (Alex Reece Mix) was released in 1995.

Yes, exactly. The tramen was made in 1996, dom sampled this break to make the tramen.

this could do with a (re-)re-mix? like the no ufo's vocal.. something I never really noticed on my 12" prob because I was too mashed to listen to it properly after the bass and the vocals kick in with that heavy little riff - smashing track

Real nice, love the chords, but shame about the reece bass synth patch (or whatever its called), shoulda just used a pure and clean sine wave bass IMO, less high frequency rattling, and more low frequency and bass pressure.

junta21st I hear ya mate, I'm just not keen on the Reece sound but I appreciate how important it is, and Alex Reece did some right killers LOL. For me tho, when I want that sort of "dirty/krunchy" (or flawed to classical ears) feel to my mix, I like to run things through VST's like warm, driven tube amps or reel-reel tape sims, tape compression can sound warm, tasty and dirty in a good way, and Kicks/Hats combined sound great through a tube IMO (its that dirty krunch). I like to do a bit of sidechain compression between my pads n bass sometimes too (jungle style stabby bass triggering comp on long pads). Sometimes it sounds really good, but other times it can just ruin things lol. I wish more artists of today had the same "feel" as these 90's dons. He was pure sugar when he collabed with Wax as Jazz Juice IMO!

Yea man I've been making tunes for years, but I've never had a release or a deal lol, because I guess I've been too lazy/indecisive/untogether to actually put my stuff out, and back in the day I got ripped off by Visionary which got me too paranoid to upload my tracks anymore... I mainly make Jungle, Garage, Dub/Reggae and this slow, chilled yet heavy style stuff thats maybe like a mix of flavours from Hip-Hop, Dub, Jungle & Chillout. People keep saying I need to upload and send out my stuff but I keep thinking I'll get ripped off again. Heheh, I'd love to have some analogue gear, but its just me, a keyboard and some software. I started on a 'general MIDI' sequencer (LOL SNES music!) when I was a wee lad, then moved on the almighty Reason, now I use Ableton 8 for the VST's and extra flexibility. Man you should do it, I say that any1 who even hints at the idea! If you already have the tools, just keep producing, push it when your ready. I'll give you a list of my fave production sites if you want and if theres anything you need help with, just ask, I love to talk about tunage. One day I WILL build a soundcloud... I need to work out some kind of protection safer than "poor mans" though.

junta21st Yea Cubase is probably the most famous, because its like the "son" of 'Control 16' (or was it 64?) which was one of the first real software sequencers, for Atari ST or Amiga, so a lot of the 90's producers would've used that. Also, I think the makers of Cubase own/created the VST format. It would be cool to get hold of an MPC or some other beefy Akai sampler, but you could probably save a LOT of dosh if you just bought a sample pad MIDI controller. £50 might get you an alright one! I think the reason a lot of analogue synth prices dont drop is because they're kind of a 'specialist' market, even though the technology might be nothing new or special these days. I've been in music shops looking at full-blown keyboard synths, and some (like Nords) go for £2000+!!
