LOL remove the black guide coat, we had an apprentice years ago we told to do that, we came back and he was standing there with a thinners rag washing the guide coat off
Dash looks sexy! And that green is poppin! My dads 39 is in the paint shop now. Fingers crossed that he picked a decent green and not a John Deere green
I am just here for how to videos and car show videos. But since i was here I checked out the paint job, i think it turned out awesome. Looks like that base was covering fairly well? Looks like it has gold pearl in it.
defiantly looks gold. This is one of their metallic colors, not really sure what is in it... It actually took about 4 coats to cover, maybe a little more on some areas.
That Zombie green really looks good. So was that like a catalyzed base coat then what you did? Did you do that pearl white on the firewall I couldn't remember? Can't wait to see the car other than on video :)
I haven't touched the firewall.. All this is temporary. I still have to sandblast the car from the belt line down lol. I just put some clear hardner in the base.
Funny part I get a better paint job out in a clean garage vs a poorly token care of spraybooth at work painted my s10 in my shop in Kentucky never had to wet sand it either

just put some clear hardner in the base. Much easier than flat clear since I will probably sand it all off this winter to fix the bottom half of the car lol.
I never saw this comment, sorry! lol. I can use the booth, but its a hassle trying to get everything there, get it masked, and then spray it. Then go back the next day and unmask and get it home. Basically it ruins the whole weekend when I can do it in half a day at home. For something nice, with shiny paint, I defiantly use the booth when I can. Sometimes we are too busy and on the weekend there will already be a car in the booth masked and ready to paint Monday morning.
I get a ton of compliments on mine with Urekem CopperHead. Yes, order extra, but even using more it's still cheap and goes on well other than being thin. The lower half of this car is still a mess, It's getting stripped and there is a ton of metal work to do. I planned just to drive it in primer after doing the chop, but I was persuaded to do this quicky "paint job" before a show. In other words, I'm lazy. lol
Because I'm lazy, but this is just base coat, by the time it lands on anything that far away its dry and just wipes off. clear coat would be another story.
I would like to see this in person, by the way he is painting it wouldn't surprise me if this is orange peeled and dirty as hell. Look at all that clutter in that shop. Great color by the way! I just cringe at the way you spray and the dirty conditions of the garage/booth. Too much wet sanding and buffing after that. But great low buck paint job how to video.
Its base coat with hardner added.. You don't get orange peel in base. And dirt doesn't show since its a flat finish. I would have taken it to the booth if I was doing a real paint job.
