Great and informative video, well done! I'd like to see more bread and butter cars from brands like Oldsmobile, Mercury, Buick, etc. Those are very interesting to see as a European.

Thanks, they are in the works. Sounds like my next model video might be just what you are looking for.

Not a bad review... a few errors here and there, but pretty good overall. In case anyone is wondering... I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the 4 speed trans was available with the fuelie v8s in '57 and '58, not just starting in '59. In '63, the top 327 was rated at 360 hp, same as it was in '62. It wasn't rated at 375 hp until '64, and it should be noted that the engine was only available in '65 until mid production. When the 396 big block was introduced, the fuelie option was discontinued. Also you said that the alloy "spinner" wheels were first available in '65, but actually those alloy "knock off" wheels were first available in '63, same with the "off road" (or side) exhaust. In '67, the L88 was introduced, but it was not rated at 435hp, that was the L71 which used 3 2bbl carbs and could be ordered with the L89 aluminum heads. The L88 was a special racing engine rated at 430hp, but had much higher compression, a special cam, cowl induction, and was only available with mandatory DELETED options, like heater and radio. The L88 was an option in '68 and '69 as well, it was not discontinued after '68. In fact, it could still be ordered over the GM parts counters until the late '70s, it just wasn't listed as an option on Corvette order forms and wasn't a "factory" option after '69. The new designed '68s were technically not "stingray's", the word "stingray" didn't show up until '69. Also, the fender side vents were first made functional in '65, not in '68. The 370 hp LT1 350 engine wasn't available in '69, it was first introduced in 1970. Beyond the '70s, I don't have much interest in those Corvettes, so I don't know if there was any inaccurate info on those cars.

Why do I feel like I can remember seeing Corvettes with six tail lights in my youth?

Maybe you are thinking of Impalas? But there there is a local Biscayne with 8 so you never know, maybe you have seen one, or more.

There were a few custom ones built by aftermarket customizers, some had six tail lights, three on each side, but I don't remember exactly what they were.

A friend of mine bought a used 2000 model off a co-worker, it was slightly modified, a 6sp manual and it was pretty quick. I didn't care much for the GM quality or how it rode.

I wonder if any of the first run of 300 cars still exist ? Maybe Jay Leno owns one. Hind sight is both 20/20 AND ironic ; 1954 suffered poor sales. HAHA !!! Imagine ....

Funny thing. Jay Leno just did a video on the first Corvette.
