I found a lot of car detailing products work extremley well on model planes. A paint sealant spray works wonders on a composite airframe and also protects from UV. The gloss is insane!

Really enjoying this series Martin. The oracover circle ⭕️ idea is great! Will be using that one , for Cleaning I use Meguires quick detailer it will remove grime while applying a wax and gives a great finish and it’s fast and easy ,and leave a streak free shine, any auto brand body detailer should work great 👍🏻- The hodge

Your might be the best R/C pilot in the world! But, what I like most about you! You are down to Earth, and share your knowledge. I.e. hints, tips, and tutorials. But, I need some advice. I have been a sport flyer for over 40yrs. Built airplanes from a set of plans and a box of sticks. I have recently gotten into electrics, and EDF's within the last 16 months. As I progress, my current charger, although one. Struggles a bit with 6s packs. I'm not a fan of Spectrum systems. Would you be able to recommend a good charger? Please help! I'm stumped.
@MartinPickering-PickeringRC
@MartinPickering-PickeringRC 4 года назад
Hi Danny, thanks!! I have been where you are!! It comes down to the Watt rating of your charger (or usually, to be more specific, the Watt rating of the 12v adapter that comes with the charger... Most cheaper chargers are limited to 50w per output, which will limit you to a charge rate of about 2.2A on a 6S pack (so less than 0.5C charge - resulting in a 2h charge as opposed to the more usual 40min charge you get when charging at 1C). There are many good chargers out there, you will need to find one though that is rated ideally for around 200w per output (be careful, often if it is a dual charger, it will say 200w and that figure be combined - so 100 each). The technology inside the chargers are mostly all the same now, so just find one that suits the space you have, the number of outputs you need and the amount you are willing to spend... I picked up a couple of Graupner Polaron chargers as they are very very good and balance really well and quick, but I only got them as they were on a super discount, otherwise they are stupid expensive. If I was looking again, I would look at the ISDT range, they are also very good and more reasonably priced. Hope this helps!

@MartinPickering-PickeringRC

@@MartinPickering-PickeringRC I haven't tried it yet but I thought it might work. I was thinking the plastic might stretch as well but it is worth a try. I think it may be an issue with an older duller hole punch.

@leeh9931

As Hodge said, covering unfortunately will always do this, be it in storage or even in day to day flying, just caused by changes of temperature. A light going over with a hair dryer or modelling iron will have it all stretched out again in no time, but it will still wrinkle again

when i watch other rc pilots fly i always want to know on what mode they are flying? when i started flying here in South Africa 1999 my radio was on mode 2 and had to convert to mode 1 . nowadays the majority is mode 2. Today i wonder what is the majority worldwide?
@MartinPickering-PickeringRC

I fly mode 2, which is probably the most common now. In UK they still use Mode 1 a lot and in Germany and Austria there are also quite a few using Mode 4
