Since 2015, at the end of every year, I always do a "Top 10 Best Models of the Year", so I wanted to do the years before that, and I choose who I think were the models that KILLED the years between 1994 - 2019 based on runways, magazines and impact.

Just to address some things: 1. For the people looking for Naomi/Cindy/Linda, I made a part II with the years before 1994, check it out ;) 2. Edie Campbell was the runner up in 2013, and Sasha Luss in 2014, editing mistake, sorry. 3. I made a "Breakout Model of the Year" video wich it's different than "model of the Year", check it out if u want ;) 4. I know that I only putted 4 women of color in the last 25 years as models of the year, but this video wasn't made with any bad intentions, I just choose the girls who I think are the models of each year doing my research with completly unbiasness and YES i know the industry has been very racist but the "model of the year" tittle isn't the cause of the problem, It would be more of the consequences of it...

@@gorgeousg8704 Let me help with your dyslexia, What I mean is that this industry was , is , and will be racist, so the probabilities of a woman of color to achieve major success to be tittled "model of the year" are lower than a white woman. It is what it is (hope it changes though)...So this "mighty white list" is the reflextion of how racist this industry has been. HOWEVER I will not toleret that people with such an ignorance come to discredite any of these girls, becuase they didn't got it just becuase they are white, they got it 'cause they worked very hard, whether you like it or not. Then what does your meme about the industry was, is, and will be racist have to do with your all-white selection, rather it seems juxtaposed to your questionable comment in which state you hope it changes though? Are you someone that goes along just to get along and you cannot take the necessary steps to change the bigotry or are you saying your choices weren't your own and you have to meet that same bigoted criterion? Is that your dyslexia? Whatever your stance, the industry can change if more people would step up? Thank God, there are women like the beautiful Naomi Campbell who speak out against racism in this industry. Furthermore, I never stated one thing relating to discrediting the models, so I don't know what you're talking about. The reason that I comment is that I despise racism and when I see mostly white I realize there is some bigotry involved.

@@gidgethrobowski3860 Yes I made the choices, BUT I didn't make the list out fantasies or personal preferences, like I said It was beased out of unbiased research, and that's what people don't understand, somebody that knows about the modelling industry like i know, KNOWS that the 2000s decade for example was ruled by white blonde eastern europeans and I'm not going to pretend that that didn't happen, I'm not gonna pretend that I didn't see fashion shows from 2004 to 2007 with all the cast being white and blonde. Like that is what heppened and trying to change history to hide that is in my opinion very offensive. When you said "you cannot take the necessary steps to change the bigotry" The thing is, this is not the kind of video to do that, this video wasn't made to "change" anything, this video was made to present the most close to reality and facts, any TOP 10 or contest shouldn't be about making statements in my opnion, beacuse you have to be unbiased. Like I said I'm not going to hide or change history, I'm not going to put Liya Kebede as model of the year in 2002, or Chanel Iman in 2009 just beacuse I don't want to put a lot of white models and seem racist. beacuse that would challenge everything that I believe and would be very offensive to even THEM, to the struggles that women of color had to deal those years. I prefer to stick with reality and show people and say "hey this happened, there's nothing you can do to change the past, but you certainly can change the future". And that is the message with this video. And It has had very good acceptances. I didn't say that you descrited the girls on this video, i said people with ignorance, that have commented under this video saying "ugh all blondes?", "why they all gotta be white", and that's in my opinion a way to descrite the girls. And yes, that is my dyslexia...

I disagree in all aspects. If you do earlier years 1991 belongs to Tyra. Most booked runways shows in a single fashion week in history with 25. She was everywhere that year! Wish she’d stayed in high fashion longer.

@baby bitch Look, it has everything to do with a "perceived" beauty standard, ya dig. And the perceived top of beauty is white folks. That's what Floris Klaver is talking about. You need an education in racism, bigotry, and prejudice in this world.

Also, I believe I have a decent knowledge of the industry to realize today's number per capita of Black models isn't nearly enough in comparison to the numerous white counter-parts. Companies market their goods (fashion, make up, etc.) to the demographic who are more likely to purchase them. It's that simple. If white women are more likely to buy Chanel, then that's who their marketing target will be, and they'll use more white models. Sean John uses more black models because that's who his target market is. This is all changing as blacks and minorities continue to grow in wealth and status. It takes time.
