Another fine video tutorial! Re-dried coffee ground are very much unheralded in so many hobbies ... as a ground cover, bark applications, etc. After drying, it can be ground even finer by simply using an electric powered coffee grinder. The more you grind, the finer the grounds will be. You can have various different size grounds for different uses.

The tress look great and the tutorial is really well done. For the cost of wire, foliage ,sand and gesso you can make unlimited trees. Thanks for sharing this very helpful and interesting technique.

Got to be the easiest way to make wire trees I've seen so far, where I live there is a lot of pine trees and I was wanting to do them for my layout because I'm modeling my state. So thank you for the video, I will definitely be making some of these

I'm a big fan of your channel. You explain everything so well. I also experimented with the wire trees. First I tried with more than 10 wires for the trunk wich is really hard to twist. I came to the conclusion that the best is with six wires. The reason for this ist, that at the bottom I spread four wires to make the root system and the remaining two I twist again to achieve a relatively stable "mounting pin". Drilling a small hole (1 mm) the tree stands securely on the layout. Best wishes, Andreas

Another excellent video Martin. I think the reason you see people using 10 - 20 wires to twist their tree trunks, is because they use a lot finer wire than what you used. You need more to get thickness in the trunk, and more wires gives you more branches in the tree.

BNSF3012 Nscale very true but with the finer wire painting the branches becomes much harder.

As allways a nice produced tutorial from Sweden. I have made similar trees , but used blended bark from actual pine trees. It has the pine color and are relative mat. even combined with acrylic painting, it still keeps mat. And by the way, it can also be used for many other things for example earth blend. Thanks.

Thank you for this information! Then I will for sure try to experiment with bark!

Excellent tutorial! I like this result a lot better than the one made from real twigs. For a little extra work you end up with a lot better looking model tree. Keep up the good work!

Thank you for the guide :) Easy to follow and you can make other stuff too from what i gather (yay, rosehip bushes too). I found that birch seeds imitate wonderfully maple leaves :) And are pretty much permanently the colour you pick the seeds thing from the trees(no need to buy scenics mold)

Hallo Martin! VGA

I belive the Akrylat is 10 times more expensive than Liquitex but PVA glue seems to be the answer to almost anything :-)

Hi! The container of Akrylat costed 8,00 SEK at Hornbach. I was surpriced. Maybe the pricing was wrong then?

Tolles video würde aber gerne noch wissen wie du den Baumstumpf, also am Boden der Platte befestigt hast. Oder den Baumstumpf selber gemacht hast.

Hi, you say you need 4 wires for H0, but what you think for O scale, 6 to 8? Because O is twice the H0 scale, just simple rhinking.

Pine? Are pines not mostly conical? I m a bonsai guy and it's very rare to see a pine looking like that.

Thanks for the video. I had been looking for a tuturial pine for some time. Is it possible to replace the pine branch with something different? I do not have many facilities to find what you use in the market

Why do you use alcohol at 7:25? I´m always using water and I think it´s also perfect.
@marklinofsweden
@marklinofsweden 6 лет назад
Thank you for commenting! The purpose with the alcohol is to remove the water surface tension. This to make the water (paint) flow in cracks and on the surface. It is not neccesary on some surfaces, but I always have an amount of alcohol in my water thinner to make sure...

That's a lot of metal to use if you need to make 1000 of them
@marklinofsweden

Indeed. I only use this type of wire tree for the "front" on my layout. I use much simpler trees in less exposed areas.
