I realize the question has likely been asked many times, but is this a currently producerd kit?

Good question. I don't see it on the Estes website or catalog anymore and looks out of stock on a few vendor websites. The rocket stopped flying in a straight line for me (don't know why) so it's retired. I did try to fly it at night on an E20 with a string of lights. That was cool.

The shuttle was very cool. I still have the one I built in 77 called Orbiter. Love the way they both fly back. Did you ever get the altimeter back?

I called the light rail folks and they never got back to me. It was just a $30 Estes altimeter so no great loss. The Flightsketch altimeters are out of stock so it's a bigger loss when I lose them.
