@@TwoRailfans thanks guys. Yeah, splashed with random colour rather than painted. The layout is still work in progress but improving all the time. Thanks for commenting. Happy Modelling
I’ve got those make of figures on my railway from eBay as well . Some of them are a bit odd but you can always repaint them ! Can’t beat a Hornby duchess 😉 all the best Richard .
Hello Monsville! I hope you're well You were definitely right to complain about those Ebay figures. Great to see the Duchess of Sutherland looks great. The real Duchess of Sutherland is based not to far from me and is currently being overhauled.
@@ModelRailwayShed thanks Deano. So i ended up with money back and figures to paint. 👍 Glad you liked the Sutherland's together. Once the original has been fixed up, maybe do a video? Thanks for your comments. Happy Modelling
Wonderful views and video, Mon! Yes, those cheap Chinese figures are awful. I find them only good enough to go inside vehicles or buildings, and still with a bit of touch up. I giggled at the "Drill Hole.... Drill LARGER hole." ANyhow, the lights look great and the layout is really taking another step forward! Excellent work!
@@ModelTrainOutsider thanks Anthony. You never know the age of your audience. I figure that for younger viewers watching, it's best to guide them? The Duke and Duchess of Sutherland were inspired after your video of your recent Duchess purchase. It's just taken a while to publish this video as I have several weeks of video scheduled at any one time. Glad you liked the video. Thanks for commenting. Happy Modelling
Hi ya Mon. Hey had the same figures, have used some of them inside buildings. Been buying the Bachmann ones for the outside. Nice job with the signals buddy. Layout looking superb as usual. Think I'm going to stop buying new, have more trouble with them than my older ones. Thanks for sharing Mon. Thumbs up thumped 👍 .... Pete....
@@delphjunction1168 thanks Pete. I'm slowly repainting those figures and using them but there are more important things to do at present. The older engines for DC are way cheaper, easy to service and so often more reliable. They certainly fit better into my budget. Thanks for watching and commenting. Stay safe and happy modelling
The other thing you can do which is what I used to do with my R/C model boats is if the main tube is metal/brass then make that one conductive and then just run a single wire up the back of the piping for the other part of the circuit. and makes the item look a lot neater. The issue with the 3d printed items are that the seller just wants to print them and sell them with minimal outlay of time or money to make more money... If they are a reputable seller or take a bit more care then the price and detail will show accordingly but most sellers these days will gladly rectify the issue promptly.
@@TimsBitsnPieces thanks so much. Yeah lots of options. The seller refunded the price so now I need to paint them to use them Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great weekend. Happy Modelling
Those figures are not the best are they. I have been very sceptical myself in buying figures. Very right to complain, and glad you got the refund. Shame about the signal fault, but luckily it all worked out in the end. Another great video. Thanks Loz.
@@AtHomeAmatuerModelRailwayPage thanks Loz. Yeah, at least the refund came through. Now I have to repaint them to use them. The electrical stuff is still a learning curve. Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy Modelling
Yes complain I`ve had similar, I`ve bought them from aliexpress there all the same, with strange long legs or moulded so badly they look like an aliens hit them with a ray gun, I went for seated peopl as bad as they are at 60 pence for 50 they effective in coaches with a little touch up
@@newlynnrailway thanks Clive. So we've bought the same lemons?! 😅 Oh well. If I spend a lot of time painting them they may work out. Thanks for your comments. Happy Modelling
