Good flight. Nicely handled with moderate workload, but with turbulence being a distraction. Tanks for sharing your experience. It’s really useful, particularly for low hour IMC pilots.

Thanks for the cool video, I think Lucy did very well handling the uneasy feeling that comes with turbulence. My wife used to struggle being calm in these types of situations and she is getting a lot better handling the stress and staying calm.

I use to fly a metroliner all over the US and I know that she is a very patient passenger. I would sometimes request to remain higher and then dirty it up and come in steep and slow to avoid the nasty turbs. Love your video and I subscribed. Brings back great memories!

Lucy is lovely. I know first-hand that "empathy for passenger comfort" does detract from my ability to concentrate on single-pilot-IMC especially in bumps. You handled it very well. Thanks for the inspiration.

Lucy You did very well because at that time of turbulence my wife would be telling me we need to turn around and go back . Baron Pilot as we all know that I myself sad a Happy Wife leads to a Happy Life in everything. Great hanging the Baron and taking to ATC

Great video, looks like that trip was a lot of fun, even though the takeoff was a little bumpy. I've always been nervous on commercial flights, so I can relate to that, but I also really admire the miracle of flight. And having the pilot remain cool as ice always helps a lot.

Hahaha, Thanks for reminding me... I loaded Vectors to Final on my IFR check ride! I pinked the test because of 14K mountains in the vicinity and my fumbling attempts at fixing the screw up. You recovered much smoother than I did. I passed a few days later but I also removed "Vectors To Final" from my repertoire of button pushes. Nice video.

She's just nervous! I would much rather be the pilot in turbulence than a passenger. Because the pilot is actively busy working radios, throttle etc. And the passenger just gets to set there and think. LOL 🤢

Once again I really enjoyed this video, I started flying at 16 and I flew till I was 50 then the cost of medical issues I was forced to stop, but there is nothing like shooting an ILS approach down to minimums, boy do I miss it.....

I say “woo hooo” “fun times”. It has worked with first time Flyers. I worked as a CFI at my local airport built into a mountainside. We did tons of intro flights. Almost always bumpy. Had two toss their lunch. On takeoff I’d say “welcome to greenwood lake”

I'm a single engine, fair wx, fixed gear driver, but it's all fun just the same. It is great to have my wife along where I give her responsibilities to take care of as it appears Lucy does for you. We do checklists and settings together as if we had 200 pax in the back. It is a bond that goes a long way for each flight and for life in general. Not to mention that after years of flying together, I know she is safe enough if something ever happened to me en route. After all, the "hundred dollar hamburger" thing is usually all about the journey, not necessarily the destination. All fun stuff! Have fun!

That coffee machine reminds me of the Coffee Turbulence Test. Clear air, you can drink a cup of coffee. Light turbulence, you can hold onto a cup of coffee. Moderate to heavy turbulence, you have to drop the coffee and fly the airplane. Severe turbulence, they find a coffee cup in the wreckage.

As long as my wife is the pilot flying -- or is preparing lunch -- she doesn't get sick, regardless of the severity of the turbulence. But if she is just sitting there doing nothing, she gets sick even in light to moderate turbulence (in a Saratoga). She started using Dramamine and it helped a lot.

I feel her pain. I am not afraid of flying, however, I abhor turbulence. I remember flying from Texas to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the jet bounced for one split second out of a nine hour flight and that was one second too much for me LOL.

Wow, looked like you guys were driving down a Massachusetts highway with all that bouncing around! I can't imagine what "severe" turbulence looks like! Poor Lucy looked like she was ready to lose breakfast there - she did a great job keeping it together! I'd love to see 55°F at ground level up here, let alone at elevation! In the 30's today - heat wave, lol. Thanks for posting!

Severe usually means some sort of loss of control. Not good at all. But 99% of the people only encounter mild to moderate turbulence, it is their perception and fear which enlarges the memory hehe

Smitty Smithsonite Extreme turbulence is conditions in which the aircraft is violently tossed about and is practically impossible to control. It may cause structural damage..... So... Not something to be trifled with lol

Lucy's eye-roll was a classic! I loved that -in other words what she was trying to say - 'Well what do you think!?' Give her a hug - goodness many partners and wives I'd know here wouldn't put up with a flight like that for 5 seconds, so you've got a keeper! (hope she thinks the same! :) )

Thanks for sharing your flight experience, I'm not a pilot but little brother is a flight instructor, and I have experience Turbulence a little ruff but gotten used to it. I go with my brother when I get the chance. It's always good to learn things as much possible to be a backup pilot and fly the plane if need it. Thank you. Sincer Julian

Have to say there are times when it borders on human cruelty to be "trapped" in an aircraft in turbulence. My wife has proven to me that some just shouldn't fly even though I wish it were otherwise. And can I suggest that Lucy be seated in an upright position and not semi reclined. The result may improve. Poor woman..I feel for her.

I could watch Lucy all day, she is so cute. Lucy’s facial expressions on this video told all. Poor girl. Not fun being scared, sick, looking out at nothing in the clouds and some turbulence. Guess you never got her to love flying, sorry you broke up with her. Thanks for sharing.
