Judo's randori is focused on certain parameters, which is set by the sport of Judo. Aikido's randori merely has different parameters. Neither is better than the other, just different. I'd say the major difference in Judo randori is that Judo is direct competition between participants. Aikido has assigned roles of uke (attacker) and nage (applier of technique). There are many ways of doing randori and there is no real victory condition except to survive as long as possible. A short answer, but I hope that helps. Thanks very much for your comment!
Thank you very much for your response , I also think even without competition, there. Should be more Live resistance which we do have I just wish it was focused on more also I feel like the assumptions I get as a student that my former art but not everyone has one that everyone knows how to punch or kick all ready and it hinders aikido
@@TheSpider42b Some dojos incorporate more live work and resistance training into their classes, and mine is one of them. It is important that my students get comfortable with the pressure of a live attacker and their training prepares them to deal with it. I do realize many aikido dojos out there don't do that, though. If students like you seek it out and express their interests in building these skills, hopefully instructors will respond to provide that kind of training.
