art nowadays is more focused on the philosophy behind the art rather than the art itself. i remember going to an art museum, seeing the most dogshit art, then reading the bio about the artwork and it's like a representation of all this really deep stuff and conceptualizing insane topics into something simple that at first glance it looks ridiculous to be sitting in a museum. is it still the dumbest shit i've ever seen? yes. art is a form of expression, but post that shit online. i wanna see hard work in a museum, not bullcrap philosophy lessons that i'm sure were made up 10 minutes before showing up to the museum
Well one point that makes it art is that you can make this video about it, so you just contributed to make this more art. But art is whatever you want. Everything all over the world is art. EVERYTHING is created in one way or another. But I do not say that one need to like all art, that is another thing.
Modern art evolved when billionaires started selling art to avoid tax evasion people saw how simplistic and stupid that art was and tried copying it to get that success (at least that's my theory)
As an artist i personally have nothing against modern art, if anything it’s more fun (like running and jumping off a trampoline), but I do prefer to make art with more physical value than philosophical.
Van Gogh was ridiculed during his lifetime.. his "art" was thought of as worthless trash by many of his contemporaries. Yet today most would agree his works are some of the most beautiful, magnificent pieces ever conceived. It's crazy how what people consider art can change, especially what people think is great art. I think you missed an important distinction here -- art vs great/valuable/collectible art. Most average people aren't considering the fallen buckets or butter flings "good" art. It is art, but so is the shit Bertha smeared on the stall wall in the shape of a penguin. Art is an expression of ideas. It's ALL subjective. Many creations today that aren't appreciated at all may very well be worth millions in the future. Just because we can agree Mona Lisa is beautiful, that doesn't make it great art , nor does it make it valuable. Value is merely the measure of what people are willing to sacrifice to own something powerful. Just about anything is art to someone. I know where you're coming from, though. Some of this is ridiculous and seems absent minded. Let's not cherry pick though, I'm not an art connoisseur but I've seen some fantastic modern art. You can draw lines wherever you please. Art today may seem stranger than it used to be but I suspect it's always been strange and that it's just more accessible to the public nowadays. Love ya bro 🙏
