As an Algerian i will add that Amir Abdelqadar even though his resistance didn't succeed but his impact on algeria was still very big in many ways. In a sense he was the founder of algeria in the modren period, When he established his state in western Algeria, he established with it a serious political and organizational system and he also minted his own currency and even created a flag for his state. In addition to that, his courageous resistance inspired many others who came after him in Algerian history, and played a role in the far after War of liberation, which had lasted seven years and took with it The lives of a million and a half Algerians. To add up He and several other figures were very important in recreating the Algerian national and cultural identity after the independence, that is After colonial France tried to erase them with every way possible in the 132 years of colonialism. He is a respected and revered character in our history and a very inspirational man. Fun fact: The city of al-kadir actually has a twin city in algeria called Mo-askar ( First captil of Abdelqadar state).
I am a French born British citizen , brought up in a Roman Catholic family, but converted to Sikhism, and settled in Punjab, and I can say that I have never heard about Amir Abdelkader in high school in France due to secular education.. It is recently that I have discovered about this great man , who was great in so many ways. An unlighted merciful soul . As a Sikh I have high regard for Sufism, and therefore I have a deep respect for Amir Abdelkader , who was the Saladin of Algeria .

AbdulQader al-Jazairi's unwavering bravery and embodiment of Islamic values truly captivated me. His commitment to Istiqama is not only inspiring but has left a profound impact on my perspective. Mashallah. May Allah guide us to embody such principles in our everyday lives, making us exemplary individuals, even in the simplicity of our actions. As Always Much respect to Dr. Yasir Qadhi. Hoped to see you in person one day Insha'Allah.
AbdelQadr is our great pride in Algeria. Beside being an early leader of the fight against colonialism, he is one of the main influence on the modern humanitarian right. His bust is in display at the Red Cross Headquarter in Geneva. A town was named after him in the US.
If I remember correctly we had Abdul Qader ‘s story in our elementary school curriculum in India. JazakAllahukhairan Sheikh for your enlightened and very beneficial lecture always. May Allah protect you and reward you for your efforts.

😢 The problem we muslims have is too much mercy. Look at how salahdin ayubi treated our enemies! And mow here i heard how this Algerian warrior sheikh abdulqadir was treating our enemies!
Oh Allah I ask you by your name Al Aziz Lord of the World's The All Mighty All Powerful and I send Your and Blessings to Our Prophet Sallalahu Alayhi Wasallam Grant Amir Abdul Qader Jannathul Firdous Al Ahla. and your Ridha ( pleasure). And to his Great Helpers Ya Allah.
An important detail that people miss about his story is that two of his sons came back to Algeria once again and declared war against the French! in 1871 and then early 1900s They were: Emir Abdulmalek Ben Abdelkader and Emir Muhyieddine Ben Abdelkader!
Great story. May Allah grant him forgiveness and Jannatul Firdows. And you dear Sheikh Yasir. May Allah bless you and your family for always educating us on these important issues
Do next time insha'Allah Amir Abdelkarim Al Khattabi, the legendary Amazigh Rifian warrior who defeated the Spanish, french and Moroccan armies and founder of the Rif Republic in 1921.
Jazakallah kheer. very enlightening speech. we will be more appreciate If you kindly provide some information about Maulana Faizani RH. a modern Scholler from Afghanistan?
Still waiting for a talk by Sheikh YQ on the 1971 atrocities in Bangladesh. It was 1971 and 3 million casualties. A lot less than French rampage in Algeria.
Assalam alaikum, The 1.5 million the Ustadh refererred to was only during the overall indenpant war between 1954 to 1962, the overall figure from 1830 to 1962 is in the region of 8 Millions. However 3 Millions in just one year is a crazy number, may Allah accept them as Mratyrs
Walekum Salaam. Appreciate the response. I understand the audience that YQ caters to is mostly south asian / pakistan. However, to completely overlook such a big event in Muslim history - Muslim over Muslim atrocity on the basis of language/ Ethnicity tells me that the Sheikh’s choices are not objective and have elements of political/ social positioning.
@@nomadic2301I am from Algeria and I honestly should do better in reading about Asian Muslim history, Jazaka Allah khairan brother for the pointer, I will in shaa Allah start reading about that.
Abdul Qadir al Jazairi's name in Iowa as a Middle Eastern Masons. His book *** Book of Stops *** reveals him to have been devoted to a Universalists Interpretation of Religion. Page 205 of Black Terror White Soldiers author Dr. David Livingstone.
One other algerian fighter won, on a different scale, the admiration of the French, even of the ones who captured him and emprisoned him : L'arbi Ben Mhidi ( during the seven year independance war ). Still they killed him in his jail, without any judgement procedure.
