The details of how Jafar As Sadiq’s character influenced how he was respected and honored is commendable and emphasizes our deen’s emphasis on exemplifying our ritualistic practices and manners for a positive change in society in sha Allah. A couple of points that the Sheikh did not elaborate on. 1) Abu Hanifa realizing the abundant knowledge of Jaffer Sadiq, became his student. Hence lots os similarities between the Jafferi and Hanafi madhhabs 2) A lot was said about the blood lineage of Jaffer Sadiq to AbuBaker, via Muhammad ibn AbuBakr, what was missing was that Muhammad ibn AbuBakr was brought up from birth by Ali bin AbuTalib to whom he was eternally devoted. As we see in the case of Yazid, he had the blood lineage of the Quraish and so did the Prophet but they were poles apart in ethics. A similar comparison can also be be made between the Abbasides- a cruel group of Muslim rulers and the Prophet as both had the same blood lineage from Hashim. So in short, blood lineage does not confer someone legitimacy.

3rd Dhuʻl-Hijjah 6 more days to go, Eid ul Adha, A phenomenon sacrificing moment for Father of 3 great civilisations. Particularly, the 2nd lineage was there to look after The House, 21.2328° N, 72.8416° E But after a few generations, they fall. Then another era had to begin but it took a while. Indication as sincere reminder given. Eid ul Adha is appropriate tooic, instead of talking conflicts between lineage (Shia) & democratic view (Sunni) perhaps? Both are believers.

Sh. Yassir, when you say the fiqh of ja’faria is close to the Sunni fiqh, did you see how the Shia pray? They have a completely different salat in some cases.

At 8:50 minute mark he confused Imam Baqer with Imam Jafar. Its Imam Baqer who disagreed with Imam Zayd.

Wasn't Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr born during the Hajjatul Wida ,in 10 AH? The daughter of Abu Bakr was born after he passed away

I'm a Sunni, I am not a Shi'a, I do not believe in Imamat.... But I have respect/love for my Shi'a brothers and wish for cooperation and unity

I want to know how come these shias attribute thousands of hadith to jafar where did they get these from?

Assalamulaikum wr, after listening to this lecture - one big question, probably on everyone's mind is that why do we conveniently try to avoid Imam Ja'far as Sadiq for example and adamant on the fiqh of Imam Abu Hanifa and Imam Abu Malik. Most "Sunnis" probably never even heard of Imam Ja'far As Sadiq, never even have heard his name mentioned once, being this awe-some, definitely unjust-wrong to sidestep. Seems like there is a tendency to go to the extreme on both sides to avoid the middle (definitely the shii side takes it to the limits), reminds me of western arrogance not accepting degrees from other countries, when they might be even better - sunni side. What do you call, think about a sunni who adopts the Jaafari school of thought.
