Kimo honey boy; how are you? I really like the color you painted the pedestal platter. The birds look a bit like you are still in the Zen mood. The bamboo planter looks good. It reminds me of something, but I’m not sure what. The pointillism itray is pretty. I’m going through my blue phase these days. I like pointillism, but I like trompe l’oeil a lot too. Doesn’t everyone need a human sized eggplant painting? I worked for The First Unitarian Church of Honolulu. There was an art gallery in the building where various and sundry artists and art groupings. This was my introduction to trompe l’oeil up close and personal. I’m not sure I have a favorite painting style I can actually do. I’m pretty good with crayon art. Ok. Enough about me; you talk about me for a while. 😄😅🤣🤙🏻🌈

Howzit Mary! I'm doing well, and hope you are doing the same. Trompe l’oeil is such a fun technique, and the artist has to be pretty adept at realism/surrealism to get it right. And I've been stuck in a blue phase for years now! 😂 (you, me, and Picasso, not bad company, right?) And crayon art? Totally! Hope you are doing well, see you next time 👋❤

Hello Kimo ! I hope you're doing well. Here it's a bit crazy with work... I really liked all the projects, and I love how you can see the bamboo grain through the paint. For some reason, it makes me think of glasswork and how light shows through coloured glass and create a lovely effect. As for paint styles, it's hard to say for me as I usually paint on paper. But I loved trying the baking soda technique. I do like to mix dark colors with really vibrant ones or pastel ones. Like i'll paint most of the object black and paint some small area in softer colors. In the jars I'm currently upcycling, I used baking soda black paint and painted some small areas a lovely baby blue and soft green color. It somehow really makes those softer colors pop. Take care ! LOL I love stencils and have a video coming out a week from tomorrow where I use stencils. And today I just bought several more. I'm a stencil addict but don't use them often enough. You did a beautiful job on that pedestal tray! I love the creative gemotric design on the box. The colors and gemometric design remind me of the 70's. And that serving tray is so beautiful! What a fun painting technique.....I might have to give that a try sometime. I have a couple favorite painting techniques......distressed, and crackle. I have a tutorial on my channel for the crackle paint technique. I think the blues you used are so pretty. I'm not sure what colors I would have used.....maybe sage green and another shade that would compliment it. These are all wonderful projects. As much as I love blues, I think I'm branching out just a bit and looking more at greens and sages. Great DIY’s, I must admit when you picked green apple for the chrome tray, I thought to myself….. Yikes! But to my amazement it came out Beautiful! Thank You for Sharing. Love the Apple Green tray the birds make a simple statement. Love the color block bamboo box you can have so many uses. My favorite is the Pointillism technique. Thanks, great ideas I never would’ve thought to do. Question, when painting on glass and adding the blue tape to the paint after it dries to apply another paint color, how do you keep the blue tape from pulling up the acrylic paint?

Diana O'Neil thank you so much! Using painters tape can be tricky on an already painted surface. Instead of painters tape, try using just a sheet of paper or card stock. That way, you don’t have to lift up any adhesive. Hope that makes sense!❤️👋

The green piece with the birds is just gorgeous. I have two beautiful matching frames that I want to make art for. So I am inspired to do a geometric shape WITH the pointillism. I am also working on a piece that using q-tips to paint hydrangeas. (using different shades of the same color.) I have some very outdated prints (English horse hunting scenes because I ride) with nice frames that desperately need replacing!! You have used several of the techniques I plan to use. Once again, another wonderful video from you❤️

@@KimoCraft I like natural materials like...glass, steel, wood, concrete, wool, leather...I like clean lines, and neutrals...So yes for me...You messed up some pieces that would of looked really good in my place...lol That square stainless steel cake stand was hot!...That natural wood square plant box would of looked so nice...I stopped watching after you messed those two items up! Oh hell naw!...You messed up that last piece too!...Making these pieces look like something out of the 70's...Didn't yall learn from that horrendous...decade! Damn shame!

Aloha Kimo! I recently did something similar, upcycling a thrifted hanging shelf with some paint, stencils, decoupage, and even cork! It turned out so cute and was really well received! Love today’s projects, I feel like the painted vase would be a fun one to try with my girls! Are there any projects you enjoy doing with nieces or nephews? Hope you have a great day!

@@Patti-1962 the hanging shelf was shaped like a house and had a backing that was painted/stenciled with something that wasn’t so cute. Initially I was going to paint the bottom portion with chalkboard paint, but it didn’t quite work out so I glued down some scrap cardboard and put one of Dollar Tree’s adhesive cork sheets over that (so it could be used with push pins). I had decoupaged the top with a cute page from a calendar and it now hangs in my friend’s kitchen to hold decor and important notes 😊 hope this was helpful!

Aloha Amber Banuelos! Thank you for your wonderful comments. And yes, I enjoy doing crafts with my nephews and nieces. Over the last few years, we’ve held craft night at my house and make things for kids at the Children’s Hospital. We’ve done Harry Potter ones, and we decorated crowns for the girls. These are pretty easy crafts, and just about anyone can do them, although we do use glue guns, so we warn the kids about the heat. So happy you visited! ❤️👋

Wow! I LOVE the wooden tray. I LOVE the blues. My fave is navy blue. 💙 So these colors are perfect. 😍 I love the bamboo box. I just love the color and style. You just made it more beautiful. I would have never thought to paint the chrome riser an almost neon green color.. but wow! Beautiful! You always make things look soo much better ❤ I love that you could make some crisp lines on the tray without using tape. You have talent sweet Kimo. ❤

@@KimoCraft aww thank you Kimo! ❤ You know how to make someone feel better when they aren't feeling good. (I have my 1st ear infection ever in my life. 😔) You seriously have some AMAZING talent! When I first saw the tray with the blue in the middle, I didn't realize it was painted. It's gorgeous! I actually have a wooden bowl in the same style as that tray. It totally needs to be cleaned tho. I should send it to you. Lol plus some other DT finds you might be interested in for fall? Lol Btw, I'm going to try to donate to your non profit every month from now on. I was seriously blown away when I not only got an email thanking me, but I received a handwritten card in the mail.. Kimo.. 😍 it brought tears to me eyes. To be so appreciated like that. I need to find the card (I'm a hot sweaty mess right now. 🤣 Not a pretty sight.
