532 is the new trend among possession oriented teams. The advantages of 3 back is that the attacker upfront can be free. During build up, if you place a hybrid CB, he can carry the ball ahead and helps vacating the half space for the ballnear CM. During defensive transition, a 5 back can help ease up the overload used by teams who apply positional concept.

Assuming GK passes to the right (towards his own 4) Blue 9 should be on the GK taking pass back away, 3 should be purposefully left alone to bait the pass. Blue 2 should be ready to put pressure on Red 3 and taking the line protecting the passing lane to Red 7, who is now covered by Blue 5. Blue 3 4 and 5 should be shifting left while leaving backside Red 11 and 2 alone. Blue 11 covers Red 5 and takes the switch away. Blue 6 8 and 10 are all man marking Red 6 8 and 10.
