Modern Spellcaster's Tarot by by Melanie Marquis (Author), Scott Murphy (Illustrator) Released: September 8, 2016 A quick review of a deck that I have been using frequently for earth based readings.
this hanged man is a depiction of odin slain on the world tree yggdrasil, in some myths he sacrificed himself so that he could obtain the knowledge of the runes 'wise words' (which are engraved on the tree) so that it would be passed down to mankind. this deck is ripe with esoteric symbolism, i am very impressed
I've been inspired to look for a new Tarot deck and found your video and channel. This was a very helpful video. Thank you for showing the cards to the Modern Spellcasters Tarot. Cheers! 🌟🌟🌟
Ohhh. I LOVE those kinds of boxes!! The backs of the cards are nice. The images are nice, clear and sharp. The thinner card stock doesn't bother me. Cards are made to last. They may get bent a little bit here and there but leave them in the box for a while and they go right back in place. Your cards will outlive you more than likely I have this deck, but I have my little cigarette pack style tuck Tuck box 😂😀 My image's are duller and not as clear. Yes I have the Knock Off deck 😀 Mine is also smaller and the backs of the cards and the images are duller. I do have the guide book with mine but it's online. Of course id rather have the nice paper book lol Id like to have the Original deck but it depends on the price. I paid $10 for mine. I do have quite a few Knock Off decks. I said $7 to $10 for each of them. I will NOT pay over $10 for a knock off deck. It irritates me when people call them fake. They're not fake. They don't bring negative energy and they don't make your readings off. Some of my best and most accurate readings have been with knock off decks.

I really like the card stock. Thin but easy to work with. I had forgot that these cards use the alternative air/fire association and was disappointed once I realized that. However, seeing the wands as the air element didn't take much doing. Assisted with the lovely imagery and it really doesn't change their meanings. (which did make me wonder why they were changed when using a RW type base) . All that aside I really found that I like them, they have a lovely 'feel' to them. I enjoy them quite a bit and they will not be on my 'trade' list. :) Thanks for sharing your review.
First impression of the Hanged Man is Odin hanging from Yggdrasil. It might look jolting, but with the Elder Futhark behind him, the meaning I think is a bit clearer.
I'm assuming the hanged man card is trying to remind of odin hanging himself to gain access to the runes, hence all the runes were pictured. I wish they would have actually used odin instead of a figure that is chained up. I saw a lot I like and a few things I didn't care for in this deck. I also wish they would have added the cancer sign to the chariot, it's usually the card I look at most in a deck and this one was missing something. It's beautiful, but a little lacking

MODERN SPELLCASTER'S TAROT DECK. Truly this tarot card picture is very good. But unfortunately the paper materials are not so high quality, because it is too thin so that it easily causes scratches, folds, and even blisters easily. My Modern Spellcaster 1 card Ace of Swords is scratched and folded very easily, so it marks on the back of the card. It feels really hurt, because like my soul that was hurt.
I suppose he was thinking more about the making of swords and wands. Swords are made of metal. For creating swords you need fire. So swords are fire. Wands are usually made of wood/trees. They grow not only through sunlight but they need air/oxygen too. And they are usually held in the air. That makes them the air element.
I don’t have this deck to know what the book says but I feel like this specific Hanged Man is a reference to Odin’s death on Yggdrasil, the tree of life. It was his journey of sacrificing himself, to himself, to gain knowledge. Yggdrasil gifted him the wisdom and magick of the runes.
