MODERN SPELLCASTER'S TAROT DECK. Truly this tarot card picture is very good. But unfortunately the paper materials are not so high quality, because it is too thin so that it easily causes scratches, folds, and even blisters easily. My Modern Spellcaster 1 card Ace of Swords is scratched and folded very easily, so it marks on the back of the card. It feels really hurt, because like my soul that was hurt.
Why do some decks swap the fire and air signs? I don't have a deck like that, so maybe there is an explanation in the book? Google provides decks that have them swapped but I can't seem to locate the actual rationale behind it. I see "Swords are forged in fire..." and the like, but there must be some deeper symbolism that I'm missing.
for anyone interested, here's one take on it I found from someone on the internet quoting a deck maker's words for a Dragon deck (paraphrased) -- Sword are tools of action; wands are used for mental rituals where the tool is a conduit, or whatever, but the action is in the mind. So that does make sense - especially in a deck named "Spellcaster."
When I first got this deck, I was initially disappointed by the card stock. But once I realized how easy this deck was to shuffle, I didn't mind the thinness so much. But you definitely need to be careful when shuffling. I haven't seen any wear and tear yet with my deck but then again, I don't riffle shuffle - I shuffle my cards from the side.
A lot of these decks are super chunky even with the lighter paper weight. I can't imagine one would be able to shuffle a deck without considerably larger hands. The lighter weight paper was probably a good idea.
