One note on The campaign that was annoying was definitely them trying in a few missions to redo iconic original MW2 missions such as the AC130 mission and all ghillied up. Every time i just got annoyed because it pushed “hey im just as good!” REMEMBER.. Yeah I remember Infinity ward and it was better back then.
My thing I enjoy the most is that I can build at least 3 of my firearms inside the video game. Would love to make my ww2 GI remake of my 1911 for multi-player. At least get to make my sbr version of my vityaz

With the weapon names it's not just the license price anymore. They're literally not allowed to use real world names from most of the corporations anymore, so they just decided to go for fake names for all of them.

I do miss the faction theming that helps to distinguish allies and enemies, as well as just adding that hype factor before a match when your faction's theme song kicks in. I don't see why they can't just have customization like, say, COD 4, where you can change your playermodel like Operators, but they were specific to your team. Like, Price was only if you on Taskforce 141, Al-Asad was for OpFor, etc. And the generic soldiers were stylized after your team if you didn't want to be a named character.
Honestly if you play long enough you start to recognize which operators are in which faction as long as they don’t go overboard with the fortnite rainbow color overload skins like in Cold War, then it’s impossible to recognize which operator or faction your against.
@@devindalton4688 Kinda, the operators might be exclusive to a team but none of them besides the default mil sims have a consistent team uniform. It might not be that big of a deal now since any given character only has their default and maybe a promotional skin, but later down the line when there's hundreds of skins it's gonna be difficult to quickly identify what team someone's on if you don't have any other IFF indicator like in hardcore. It's already a little iffy since one of the American operators on KORTAC already has a USMC endowment pack skin on the Eastern aligned team
The reason IW don’t bring back those maps is a) drip feed content, b) because people complained in previous games about map recycling, I believe the line was crossed in cod ww2 and people got pissed.

they should integrate team themes (like spetsnaz, rangers, tf141 et al) and some character customisation, such as faction specific helmets, goggles, balaclavas etc, i think ghosts had something like it
And people used to shit on advanced warfare customization, it was ahead of its time. Imagine being able to make your characters look so drippy, with rare items not everyone can get. Everyone had their own rare items, whether they liked it or not wasn't much of a big deal. Because supply drops were guaranteed

I don't understand why IW insists on doing everything possible to eliminate the skill gap like lack of strafe speeds or dead silence. While at the same time having a strict SBMM. You either have one or the other not both.
CoD campaigns are forgettable enough for me that I WAS surprised about Shepherd and Shadow Company. Enjoyed the campaign and will enjoy multiplayer more when I finally unlock the throwing knife 😆 Great branch-out video, X!
Can't wait for a Call of duty X Halo crossover. No shield halo infinite game mode and recharging plates cod game mode? Seems pretty sick. We even already have ghost in Halo (emile)
Sometimes I feel like the 'Reinventing the wheel' and 'change for the sake of change' issues come from a long-standing complaint from a lot of players that every CoD is 'More of the same'. My guess is that it became prevalent enough to warrant pressure from the higher ups at Activision or whoever for the occasional switch up to existing systems.
There is supposed to be 17 more weapons as shown in the beta, you could literally see a total of 50 guns in the beta instead of the 33 you see in the final release
As a firearms connoisseur the weapon progression/receiver system irks me just a little. Overall I think it is fine, but I really wish they didn't make it seem like an MP5 and G3 can just swap receivers and voilà, new caliber and barrel length. I'm nitpicking a bit but if that's all I have to do then that means the game is pretty good overall. I won't get started on the weapon names because I agree with you, and I'll be here all day on that topic.

Rust is actually on one of the ground war maps, and a lot of map remakes are supposed to be added once warzone 2.0 drops. Terminal and dome were shown in the map reveal, I’m not sure if there were others but those are the ones I remember

I honestly am very content with the weapon receivers. I also enjoy the way we unlock attachments and receivers. It makes you appreciate every gun. I also like the new perk system… ghost perk was ridiculous having it 24/7
The game itself is really fun, and I’m glad that IW is at least trying to do something new, but the skill-based matchmaking really keeps me from playing longer than a game or two, because my skill level is very inconsistent. One match I’ll have 30 kills and 12 deaths, and the next I’ll have 2 kills and 46 deaths(playing in domination), and it doesn’t get any better for the rest of that night.
Try to ADS more with shotguns. It should still be decreasing their spread quite a bit You know Survivor users can't shoot you, right? You don't have to duck into cover when they go down, just finish them off before they revive. It's only good for for Sentinels who sit behind hard cover with LMGs, otherwise you'll almost certainly die before you can get revenge
I do find it interesting you say it feels casual. I’m getting to the point that we think casual is just being good at the game. One shorting people with those rifles is great if you’re a beast at it but is pretty miserable to fight against. The game has felt super sweaty to me and my friends. We’re doing a “fun check” after every match lol. I think it is adderall infused, you just are at the top of the pile so it isn’t a negative.
You’re right. The SBMM (or EOMM to be more accurate) is insane here. I have never played a game where I’m so certain that the game is messing with my damage values or server connection than this one. One lobby, I’ll be shredding people before they even hit me once, or if they do I have time to move. And the next, I’ll get 4 hitmarkers on everyone with the same weapon I was melting with in the last game and I’ll die in seemingly one bullet. I have a friend who is not very good and every time we play with him, the lobbies get much easier. To the point that he’s going something like 9-21 and saying the lobby is sweaty as hell while I’m going 41-10. It’s night and day.
I agree with almost everything you said. All but the YY thing. Hate reload canceling. Staged reloads are way better. You can't cancel your reload in real life. Once that mag drops out you gotta throw a new one in.

Solid 9/10 for me. It’s like a 6 hour movie. Narrow, claustrophobic hallways, crazy action movie set pieces and a “realistic” story. If you’ve watched any of the Sicario movies you’ll like this campaign.
It's milk toast at its finest. Everything is predictable, it's a fun popcorn flick but never is it captivating. and I genuinely think everyone who is happy with this campaign is objectively wrong. Either due to being fed trash for so long that they accept mediocrity and praise it, or have never played the original modern warfare trilogy as a fresh player

I haven’t even started this video, and already does the title put into words exactly how this game feels! There is so much wrong, yet also so much right with the game. Also, gotta love the pun of calling it Modern Warfare ‘2(2).
MOCAP and acting was incredible, and the game had its moments; Price is always good, Alejandro was an amazing character. But tbh i would give the campaign a 5/10 personally, it just, IMO, wasnt good. I am glad to hear good things about the multiplayer cause I feel like the campaign is comparatively really bad.
I love the new checkpoint reloads. Even as a Halo fan where I’d never want that in one of those games, I played 2019 and now this one for my love or real life firearms and tactics. (Granted COD isn’t typically the most tactical or realistic, but I don’t have a pc to play tarkov). Checkpoint reloads is great and pairs sooo well with the new quickswap attachment on pistols. Makes pistols fun to use and much more viable in a realistic way
Is it just me or do the attachments feel jank at the moment? Like very few of them are objectively worth it? One might improve ADS time greatly, but then your weapon feels like you'd need Arnies forearms to control the thing. So far I've found the standard guns with no adds to be better than anything else
I have never been more into call of duty lore, I loved where they went with the story in MW 2019, the references to Al Qeada and the London bombing, the wolfs den being structurally identical to bin Alden’s compound. Call of duty has always been a “play your favorite war movie” type of game and some people may not vibe but I love it.
I knew the moment I logged into Modern warfare 2 the 2nd the UI would have videos talking about how bad it is. I also can't wait for The Act Man's review talking about it since I know it will be funny. Beyond that my only big issue is a lack of survival and coop/single player retention offerings.

The thing I was missing most is that task force 141 isn't just special characters it's also troops with them not just ghost soap etc they have team mates with them I'm mw2. I was hoping they would have more ranger type stuff or missions which was in mw2 I liked the Mexican missions but I do wish they either had some stuff involving rangers or something even shadow company being boots on the ground with tf141 would have been epic. But still a good campaign
It's definitely not as prominent as it was in 2009s game but in the first mission as Soap you are with a group of Rangers. I think that's in though, the rest they work with Shadow Coy
@@jingle9691 yeah correct I know the focused on more gang stuff in the new game but I feel like mw still includes groups of guys going into things even if it is squads of 5 or 10 etc I just love the immersion the mw games bring when they have squads of men in campaign missions. But I still really enjoyed the campaign. I would love a spec ops mission were 4 friends are clearing out a compound and 1 guy is the ac 130. The more military stuff they add into the campaign like mw2 did with rangers etc I always love. Like the first mission you said that's what I wish we got alot more of. Same with task force 141 having troops and not just hero characters. But it's small complaint
The campaign was such a letdown, I hated it so much, especially the levels Violence & Timing, Alone & Prison Break, these levels each stopped me from playing the campaign until I got stuck in Prison Break & decided to uninstall the game & trade it in.
Seems like an unpopular opinion but I actually enjoy the idea of the progression system with leveling one weapon to get another. If makes people diversify their arsenal and try out new guns. I also enjoy the the new perk system and even the return of last stand, I just want more perks. And on terms of comparing the reboot to the og, I just don't compare as they're both trying different things. Overall my ranking of campaigns for cod would be BO1, MW2, Ghosts, BO2, MW2019 then mw2022
This isn’t an unpopular opinion, the hiddenexperia is a halo you-tuber and doesn’t represent the cod community well with his opinions (not that he has to), most people and even COD YT’s and casuals were mostly happy with receivers and leveling multiple guns at once. Although the attachment unlocking system, where you’d have to level 4 different guns to get one attachment did get some scrutiny
Being someone who owns 2 ar-15s one 556 the other 300 blackout. That was an obvious airsoft gun. Which is funny, but also sad, because obvious. But, nice set up. Maybe buy real body armor though. It's a great investment Edit; 9:41 that lower receiver has an upper receiver on it. All but the stock and buffer tube comes off the lower receiver. The upper receiver on the left is 100% accurate. So that's a little appreciated

Hidden, I don't think it's a money thing for the weapon names. I think COD is a victim of its own popularity. The gun companies are all terrified to be sued due to their named weapons being used in one of the most popular game series ever. It's so disheartening that people still believe video games cause violence, despite the mountain of evidence to the contrary. But. These gun companies are absolutely PETRIFIED that a mass shooter will play COD, then blame it instead of their own madness when they shoot up whatever soft target to assuage their ego/depression.
Tbh my first modern warfare I ever played was 3 lol I always wanted to play the og modern warfare and modern warfare 2 because I'm really committed to the story now and I agree I don't really like the ui's either but glad to hear that they are getting a redux
This is my favorite CoD in the last 6-7 years, campaign was good, multiplayer is best its been, plus once Warzone and DMZ drop there will be something there for everyone, and the maps are actually memorable and fun
Another consequence of the weapon unlock system: Grind the AKS-74u, and then try out the Vityaz right after getting it to level 13 (it says 15 in game I think but I got it at 13), after a few hours of grinding the former. It's crazy. The AKS is superior in every single aspect except recoil. But who cares? It fires a better round while being basically just as mobile.
Personally the new mw2 campaign is my favorite campaign in a cod game. I loved the dynamic gameplay and different ways you can beat a mission. God I love it
actually I don't know if you noticed this but the progression tab at launch of MW2 is missing which thats very odd because it was in the beta but why is it missing at launch?
oh man I relate so hard with the whole Faction or My team vs enemy team bullcrap. I just like being a no named grunt or infantry of whatever factions. I hated named operators in MW2019 and purely rocked a MILSIM default Dan the entire lifespan of the game (unless name operators actually looked realistically tactical with their equipment and uniforms)

I'm never gonna refer to an Ares Shrike as the "556 iCaRuS" or the AK-47 as a "kAsToV 762", so just put the real name in Activision.
Story wise I agree with you. I think what you were trying to say is that the story doesn’t make you feel like you’re in something bigger. You’re literally special forces operating in small numbers. There’s no massive battles or cause to really fight for. Also whenever someone tried to see where the missiles came from Shepard steered away from it so obviously it’s funny. Farah only makes a cameo and I liked her character. Also all of the missiles being in blue containers from the start kinda gave it away.
the perk system in this game is great, now every player can’t start the match with ghost or something and your uav isn’t going to work on them the whole match, now it’s just about half way through the match when they get ghost
As someone who hates when people just use the same guns over and over again for a whole 2 years the reciever system is so great because even if temporarily those people cannot just use the same weapon over and over as a crutch.
Nah that map with all them damn cars on the highway is the devil the amount of times ive died to cars exploding not to mention 3rd person on that map is so horrendous ive never gotten pop shot so many times in my life
The campaign was painfully generic especially compared to the original mw2, however, i can't lie, the end credits "no russian" scene definitely got me interested for the next game
I think they were going for was taking some old characters for the original call of duty MW2 storyline and some recently introduced characters and then creating a similar timeline to the original call of duty MW2 but not the exact same way I feel as the story of call of duty MW2 (2022) will continue in the next call of duty modern warfare game and fit in with the call of duty MW2 timeline (2022) or whatever call of duty game it is that's just a thought but seems to be like that and I think what they were trying to do with the weapon and attachments upgrade system is that you can't unlock the attachments you want for your gun by using the gun you like you have to adapt to new guns in order to get the things you want as for the perk system I don't see much of an issue but it's very rewarding if you know what perk can fit perfectly with the others and the UI and the naming of the guns the UI could of been a little bit better but I don't mind but the names of the guns I personally don't care about but overall apart call of duty world at war and call of duty modern warfare 3 this is number 2 on my top 3 out of all the call of duty games I have (which I think about 6 call of duty games)

You play Arma? I just got into the halo community for Arma 3 at the start of this year, and (to me) it feels like a version of halo 3: odst that's more RP/milsim heavy. I'd love to see you stream some arma or squad sometime!
It feels too much like 2019 and all the guns are basically the same too. Like you said, no gimmicky weapons or even just something off standard. Even the hitmarkers and xp popups/sounds don't sound good. I don't like it. Kinda kills the whole game for me, just feels like 2019 over again. The UI, customization, SBMM and perk system is unbearable. Also the campaign, exactly as you said, stands in the shadow of the OG MW2. I remember us all kind of complaining back then though about new COD releases always being the same, or just having too minimal differences. But honestly now that I look back, I think we were wrong. The formula was good, we were just spoiled. If they re-released actual MW2 remastered multiplayer, with a few new weapons, like all guns from COD4 and MW3. OG perk system but also include a specialist and support option. It would outsell every cod in existence most likely and retain players for years.
