You guys don't understand you hate sheperd cause he killed ur fav char bohoo so sad i mean 2 people are more important than 30,000 men i get why he's angry and why he betrayed them
@@hazmatbob1519 Well I hate Makarov and Shepherd the same way. Since Shepherd stabbed Soap. Makarov planted a bomb in the Buildung where Soap and Yuri were so Soap's stab wound was reopend that's why I hate both of them.
It's probably her coming to terms with the idea that she could've died. Life flashing before her eyes, coming to realization that that might've been her last flight. Then the surge of adrenaline as she realizes she can have another chance. Only to have it taken away as the nuke is set off.
One of the best moments in this game is when the pilots and Vasquez knew the risk they were taking, yet there was zero hesitation in the decision to go land and try to save the Cobra pilot.
I think both the original and remastered versions are extremely effective in what they convey. The original had that blood red tinge that was foreboding and the sense of being alone as the world around you crumbles. The remastered version shows the pure destructiveness of the nuke and the horror that was unleashed. Seeing the pilot that you risked your life for choke to death in front of you was horrifying and the cloud looked hauntingly beautiful.
The original might even be more accurate since there would be a thick layer of particulate and dust from the amount of buildings and dirt that would be blown to bits and shot outwards from the blast.
I didn't even realize that was pilot the until you mentioned it. I always just walked right past her and just figured she was another Marine who died. Damn. I gotta go back and play the MW Remastered Campaign
If i recall correctly there was some interwiew that basically said all the stuff you see in the remastered are things that they wanted to add in the first one, but due to technical limitations never could so they just added them here
@@woodhidh At the radius they were during/after the blast, they were pretty much All choking to death, or going to, since the nuke sucks all of the oxygen out of the atmosphere surrounding it. It's possible she punctured some lungs, but the main cause would be the lack of oxygen, so she was essentially grasping for air that was no longer there, as was Paul, thus, killing them both. (Not mentioning the acute radiation poisoning these soldiers are experiencing either, point stands)
This is probably the most chilling and nerve-wrecking scene in the CoD series. You thought you saved everyone, and now you die. You also crawl to your death in a foreign wasteland, seeing all your friends dead, you look up, and die.
RocketReloadDonut What about Vendetta when you wake up in the fountain with the Wehrmacht executing the survivors? That scene was horrifying the first time I saw it.
RocketReloadDonut None that I can think of in modern CoD' s. Except for that scene in IW where that lady is walking along the wall of names. That was a good scene, I'll give them that.
2:29 this line from command is honestly one of the most terrifying things in any game I’ve played. No jumpscare, no visuals, just a man talking to you through a radio telling you that a team found death in a can. Then the aftermath after you wake up and crawl out of the chopper while the wind blows is even scarier, with or without the other marines dying around you
I still think of this scene, it was the first time I ever imagined the horrors of war. And the NATO phonetic speak is such a great choice, it creeps you out surviving a nuclear heli crash, that everyone is trying to figure out what the hell happened, and you're hit with the realisation of dying as a number.
In MW Timeline, 30.000 marines have been killed by this nuke, aehuheheau Makarov 30.000 x Marines 0( All respect to the USMC) It was only a joke, in my opinion the USMC is amazing !!!
4:50 this is actually the most saddening scene ive seen so far. imagine being in this guys situation. you are extremely injured, you saw your comrade die, and you know you are next. you are just crawling to nowhere at that point,
I'll always appreciate how the game has literally been hinting at this moment since mission 1 and to top it off is so on the nose with the presentation of Shock and Awe. Yet you are so accustomed to being the hero you think you are going to win and the game smacks you in the face for it.
It turned me believing I was a part of the most ferocious fighting force in the world, with support from branches A B and C…, to being controlled by chemistry.
5:15 I just love how the clouds and nuke mushroom looked like an eye. It's like a cruel powerful being looking down at the death and destruction it had created below.
I noticed that a lot of the scenes in this game have some new animations, like al fulani's hands being bound, jackson loading the mk19, and jackson trying to save that guy in the helicopter during the nuke, jackson looking at his hands, etc. Gotta love the little details like that.
In the original you dont see Pelayo and Vazquez Dyng in front of you ,Pelayo and one soldier are only bodies in the floor,y liked the new details, and the textures are more realistic,Pelayo in the original have the clean face, but now is very injured
Man... Imagine being the NEST team at ground zero trying to defuse that nuke. They must have felt a lot of pressure when trying to defuse the bomb but it was inevitable anyway because it was remotely detonated
@@EleanorsDriver Not even. They're right by the nuke, they and the ground the shadows would be on are totally atomized unless they said "Let's run!" way earlier. The fireball's too hot to even leave that much in their case, since it's a ground burst… all that's left is diffuse particulate matter.
Agree, best "Let's Play" channel are people playing game WITHOUT BULLSHIT (especially in the end of video, a fat stupid guy begging for subscribe and donate in patreon)
1:04 It showed real valor that they went back for the pilot despite being told the consequence. Even the imminent threat of nuclear annihilation is no excuse to leave a man behind. And even though they all still died, they did so as a team
+Mary Terril, No, no, it's a reference to the Nuke Killstreak in multiplayer matches for Modern Warfare. If you got twenty five kills without dying, you could trigger a nuclear bomb which would kill everyone and guarantee a victory for your team.
4:04 on god it sounds like he’s hearing the screams of agony from the rest of the battalion squadron fleet, and then it’s only him, as compared to the original........ scary.
@@lockheedac-130ugunshipspoo3 If the nuke didn't go off, those 30000 men wouldn't die. If those 30000 didn't die, Shepherd would not have gone off the deep end.
Panzer Man as cool as this one looks, the original will always be the one in my memory simply because it’s the one that originally made the impression on me
Honestly one of the most flawlessly directed moments in any video game. Endlessly haunting and just fucking terrifying, the lack of music really helps the absolute nightmare that is portrayed here.
i'll admit: i'm not big into playing games(occasionally get into them but in spurts and I'm terrible anyway) and have NO interest in COD but read about this scene in some article and looked it up and was stunned by how immersive it is. Despite being a game and not 100% true to life visually like maybe a movie or television, I was moved at how effective it was portrayed. Chilling and incredible.
1:35 I love how Cpl. McCandish shot the wounded OpFor militant dead after Jackson shot him. Shows that friendly AI are useful since they barely do that. I still fucking hate the Holographic Sight on the M4A1 lol
Not completely... You maybe able to avoid the radiation completely. It'll be the breakdown of world economy and the decrease in food and pure water because no one will be around to make it for you... If you are in a nuclear shelter before hand and wear nothing but gas masks and heavy duty NBC suits before going outside, you are pretty much untouchable by radiation.
kasra khatir Well it was a joint operation between the branches, kinda explains why the marines were using Blackhawks instead of Hueys during "Charlie Don't Surf"
Lancer Captain Spadez no he is right marines only use Blackhawks as VIP transport. Kinda strange DICE made the same mistake for Battlefield 3 and 4 with the little bird. These games do have military advisors right ?
I used wrong word...my point is that they are soldiers and somethimes they used to not panic or something..Just like in Black Hawk Down.If you guys remember, perfect calm voice saying "we got a black hawk down,we got a black howk down...our bird is down".. This guys are tough as nails! (sorry for my bad english)
@@str1kerzz315 Do not pay attention to Ukrainian propaganda. Now there is a hybrid war against Russia. I advise everyone to be more reasonable and not to believe any media.
Still one of the most intense scenes I have ever experienced in a game. I wish Call of Duty could bring back that intensity in their campaigns. Or in BO4’s case, have a campaign.
"Do you know what a nuclear bomb looks like up close, Ernie? It's like looking at the light of a thousand dead stars vaporizing everything and everyone, those who are unfortunate enough to cross it's path. Look away from the initial flash, and you can almost convince yourself that a cloud has pass through the sun bringing sunlight back into the world, that optimism will soon shatter you once you start to hear the deafening, glass shattering explosion, destroying everything in it's path. When the sound fades, and if you are lucky enough to keep your vision for these last few moments, you can see the fiery portal to hell, releasing 1000's of tiny imps falling from the crimson sky, covering the demolished terrain into untouchable objects. As I stared into the portal of hell, I wondered how I survived, I was badly wounded, yet wondered how my body was being pierced by the gamma radiation, being badly wounded by the helicopter crash, the intense heat which felt like my blood was boiling, but none of that bothered me, I watched as my men and women in arms succumb to their untimely demise, that didn't bother me. I was found by a rescue team and brought me back to a nearby military base to treat my wounds. They told me that I would have between now and 15 years maximum to live due to the extreme radiation sickness, in the end, it wasn't the bomb, the people, the silence, nor the destruction that haunts me, Ernie, What haunts me the most, was mankind going out of it's way to open up the gates of hell itself to fight their wars for them. It was greed, Ernie, it was greed." -Pvt Burt.
It's been 17 years since I first saw that nuke scene in the first and original Modern Warfare game. Now that I see what a nuke bomb can do is kind of scary.
This MW remastered was the first of the classic CODs I ever played and I have to say this was and still is the most breathtaking thing I have ever seen from a video game.
I really like how the remaster added in sounds of the survivors of the crash slowly dying, and you even see the Cobra pilot you just saved die right in front for you. Those details weren't there in the original and it makes this scene so much more horrifying.
Lieutenant Vasquez is such a badass. He’s the only marine besides the player to get up and walk after the nuke went off. When I saw him fall to the ground my heart sank. He was probably the reason I liked playing as the marines more than the SAS
When I was little I was crying and i wanted Jackson survive the nuke explosion. When Jackson was crawling out the chopper I wanted a soldier to save him but no one was there. He died slow painful death. This mission was so sad. 😭😢
Yep. I had this feeling too. And I thought “is this the end of him? Or he will survive?” But when he fell on the ground, I realized what’s happening. Cyka blyat
do you know the difference between professional soldier's morale and normal man's morale?? in the first Cold War's time special unit of usa and urss were trained to combat just after a very near nuke explosion
Artos Ap Nab Sure but they didn't fly in helis of the blast radius. You're going to fall out of the sky; when that happens I don't care who you are you'll have the sound of terror in your voice.
If alex was jackson if the plot twist says alex real name sgt jackson like they did to soap in mw2 with captain mactivch plot name If some he old friend say his real name did like captain price did it will be cool epic people cry he back after damn 10 years
Depend on the yield. It was a surface detonation which reduce the efficiency. Also it was a nuclear bomb, an A-bomb, those are much less powerful than an H-bomb.
That's why Shepherd said in MW2 at the end "Tomorrow there will be no shortage of volunteers, no shortage of patriots" This Nuke turn a good commend, into a evil.
+me Col. Shepherd, the secondary antagonist general that betrays you in MW2, was leading the invasion in those missions. He lost most of his men, most that he likely trained and commissioned himself. It made him resent everyone who was involved. So he teamed up with Makarov to start a war.
I'm not a huge fan of some of the art changes, but I think the nuke scene is just gorgeous. The painterly look of the mushroom cloud, the way it parts the cloud cover, it's so hauntingly beautiful and dramatic in a way that truly conveys the otherworldly horror. The explosion in the original always fell a little flat to me.
“Copy 2-5 be advised, you will not be at a safe distance if that nuke goes off. Do you understand?” “Roger that, we know what we’re getting into” We in fact did not know what we we’re getting into
The remastered version is great but could have been better. Notice the way Jackson puts his hand in front of him when the nuke goes off, it shows no emotion, and the man is looking at a nuclear bomb. Metro's first person animations always show the emotions of the main character, for example. Also, when you fall from the crashed helicopter in the original game the screen got blurry for a while while here you get some damage and that's it. Also when the helicopter is spinning and the nuke has gone off you can see some intact buildings out of the helicopter, they should be destroyed or falling or there should be smoke everywhere. I know I'm nitpicking but this is the best perspective of a nuke going off in gaming, the remaster could have made it even better than this.
@@peoduction6068 True that there may have been some details that are overlooked in the remastered version. But overall it is better than the original version in terms of visual wise. What bothers me is that people are being on a nostalgic trip on the remastered version of the game, despite they are the one asking for it. This is why we can't have good things.
@@Xozkov Yeah pretty much. I think Marines and the Army training is pretty much fucked up at the beginning so when you're on half of the training you have a more relaxed atmosphere to become a critical thinker.
Cod4 was the first FPS game I have ever played and I still remember playing this when I was like 9; so 8 years so, never has a video game shocked me so much before.
