Won’t happen because Yugioh was fundamentally flawed from the Get-go. Even if Special Summoning was limited to once per turn, the game would still be broken because there are so MANY broken cards stacked on top of broken cards that alot of the slower decks that don’t need special summons would just become top tier

@@JuwanBuchanan I am FULLY aware that it is never gonna happen. It's too big a change to the game, ESPECIALLY when you consider how much the current meta loves Special Summoning. I do however believe that, even if it wouldn't balance the game completely, that it is a decent step forward. Or, at the very least, it can make the game feel less like solitary.

@@jmurray1110 Belated answer, but Six Samurai only have a Level 5 Synchro, which is a once-per-turn Spell/Trap negate. They, along with Phantom Knights and Heroic, at least until it was banned, were all about summoning Rhongomyniad with 4-5 Level 4 Warriors, because that either wipes the opponent's field and/or locks them out of summoning for a turn.

Ok so you don't enjoy Yu-Gi-Oh? Try other formats or something. Calling other people cringe for enjoying a different style of play is cringe in itself

Lately this is my experience on MD, I go in to the ladder, not caring about rankin and only doing it to get some gems and fulfill the quota of the duel competency thing so I can unlock aesthetics and I can barely get through anything past silver rank because people I face are obsessed with taking as long as possible to play single turns. Its at the point where I will litmus test my opponents by scouting the first few cards they play and ascertaining if its combo or not, and if it is combo, I just scoop on the spot and move on: skipping the experience of sitting through the combos altogether and disrespecting them by disallowing themselves the opportunity to waste my time. Heros deck? I scoop. Labrynth? I scoop, swordsoul? I scoop, kash? I scoop. Tear? I scoop Bysteal? I scoop Amazoness? I scoop Use maxx c? I scoop because fuck you. Any and all decks that masterbate with themselves in their combos for longer than three minutes tops (not including thinking time) will find themselves rejected by me because they are not worth my time sitting through. If it ain't fun, I won't be a masochist. I don't care enough to break their boards if I have the means to do so when I finally would have my turn because they took so damn long making the boards that I just don't wanna deal with their time slog,. It just isnt satisfying to break their boards, it just feels like a chore of being forced to watch a shitty movie and being tasked with roasting it. sure, it can be done, I could destroy their board they spent too long making and end up beating them in doing so but is it worth it? Is it worth my time? I don't get enough of a dopamine rush from it to make it matter so fuck long combos, I scoop when I smell em coming

That feeling when you know you don't have the ability to win over your opponents board and all the opponent has to do is enter battle phase and attack unimpeded but instead the opponent chooses to NOT enter the battle phase, spend 30 minuets playing card effects, THEN entering battle phase, activating ANOTHER series of card effects and resolving them before FINALLY attacking for game. Its moments like that that make me dislike modern yugioh cards the most. The solitaire is a colossal waste and disrespect of peoples precious time living life. Time is precious and should never be squandered, sitting through yugioh players solitaire is squandering precious lifespan

Modern yugioh is sh*t, also the community is trash with their toxic & one turn win BS. They also forgot that in the begining yugioh tcg was inspired from Egypt, yet in modern yugioh, most of the monsters are random weebs anime characters. You're right, konami(sh*t) is to greedy they ruins the essense of the games. Yet the community call this evolution of yugioh, what a joke, this is devolution.

Each generation of the anime had it's own aesthetic, look at the very cyborg esque designs of the warriors during 5Ds era for instance

personally when i tested six sam years ago i ran six sam control. It was really funny using it against combo players with shogun shien out and the synchro so they get 1 spell/trap a turn and i negate it without issue. Hilarious stuff

Yeah! I remember once upon a time when Yu-Gi-Oh was actually fun and competitive. When you actually have to use actual skill and tactics to when. Now it's just become Unbearable to deal with. Now it's all about Negates, Hand traps and over Hundred summonings in one turn. Looks like Konami chose GREED OVER FUN. GREED AND POLITICS RUINED THE GAME FOR ME

Over half of everyone’s decks is made of the same negates & the other half is designed by Konami. We can maybe fit 6 cards of our own ideas in modern decks. Everything else is tailored for us.

I hate swam the opponent type decks that kill the you the opponent in one turn it takes the fun out of the game, so I can see why Yugioh is losing popularity in resent times.

That happened to me. I Witch's Strike'd them so they had no hand and no field. They were able to summon one Fluffal Dolphin out of the grave and with that one card they got several threats onto the board and stocked their hand. I hate this game so much.

i just run off-meta decks. my personal favorite is a ninja deck i've cooked up. it has recycling potential, OTK potential, decent combos and a back-up engine built in. Only problem is i have to bloat it with hand-traps to stop these meta turds so i have to sacrifice consistency to beat this shit.

I think a real solution is a hard cap on special summons. Limit max 3 per turn or some shit, or experimenting with this cap idea until a happy balance is struck idk. There are anti-swarm cards. Kajus, ra sphere mode, nibiru meteor etc..but they are bandaids and don't discourage eternal solitaire like a hard cap on special summons would give

thats kinda the point of an exodia deck run hand traps to stop them from drawing/adding to hand. Usually a good one to burn Ash Blossom on (in my opinion) is magical mallet or reload. They'll keep the cards they want and if they have a shit hand with 1 piece, mallet and the wrong combo parts they'll swap out. deny mallet/reload and they have to play with what they have. If they cant start the combo with what they have they're wide open

Actually, combo decks have reached the point where they need to run 42-45 cards in order to function between hand traps and combo pieces. Some struggle to keep it even that low. So you wo0uldn't really be able to hit their consistancy very much.

i run a homebrew ninja deck with a back-up engine. used to run psychics

Toss was peak yugioh. Bar none. Edison was pretty good, GX era had dark armed dragon, which was a 1200 dollar instant win card. The most balanced era of yugioh was probably 5ds or vrains era.

That's why almost no one ever bothers about that era. In all seriousness, it wasn't very balanced. From BLS domination to Cyberstein OTK to dimension fusion BS to crush card virus lottery and Armaggedon OTK to future fusion OTK and Card trooper lottery to DAD TWICE. The game only became kinda balanced in 2010 after banning and limiting almost every OTK enabler, then created another FTK (Frog) and then after veiler and Maxx C's release the game became stable... then they released Inzektors, Rescue Rabbit and wind-ups, then another good period, then Dragon rulers, then another good period, then soul charge, pendulums, Nekroz, Zoodiacs and maxx C becoming overwhelming, with only one decent format hidden there, and then links just ruined things even more.

Because key, landmark cards like Quasar/Blazar would go from difficult to summon to downright unplayable. On top of that many link 4/5s require a lot of summoning so limiting it would make those cards far less appealing
