If your amazed at the life like weeds lyrics in this song I would bet you've never seen them live, he throws in lyrics from different songs quite often. I don't know what word to use to describe their live shows but it would be a big one I learned when I was in college
anyone know where the Cowboy Dan outdo stems from I've always been curious. I mean the long live improv version he seems to have stuck with mostly between 96 and now. Also does anyone else prefer the b side of ocean breathes Its so raw. I guess it doesn't matter but we're all junkies here.
Artistic license. It's his song, he can sing it how he pleases. I personally love it when artists do that kinda thing. It shows they have a passion for their work and aren't just going by the book.
Great line. To me, it represents the ultimate isolation of the self. No matter how intimate we become, there is always something we keep or understand only to ourselves, and no one else could understand what it means to inhabit a body other than their own.

I could listen to this song on repeat for weeks. What a masterpiece. The look at 4:05-4:11... you can tell this song has such a deep meaning to him, looks like he is holding back tears. I'm actually glad the crowd was so weak because you can hear them rip it for 7+ mins with no screams to interrupt.

He doesn’t even look “”present”” at 4:16 , it’s like he slips into a whole different world, perhaps diving deep into whatever the inspiration for Dramamine is. I love it ❤
Crazy how much emotion is behind those eyes. This is what I miss about artist these days. No one will show emotion. That music will die off, and music like modest mouse will live on forever.

i dont think that they have enough security to tell a festival crowd to not be loud, but i like to think that they have so much respect for the music that they just shut up and save it all to the end and then unleash when they're done playing.

I've seen them 10 times going back to 2000. When I saw them with this 6-person lineup in '09 it was as good, if not better, than any MM show I've seen. It was the perfect mix of songs from all of their albums and the band was incredible. They haven't toured with a 3-person band since 1998...

Agreed. Nothing wrong with watching the band when you go to a concert. Also, for musicians in the audience, it's interesting to see what the band members are playing.
