Great mod! Before seeing your video, I had a similar concern. Instead of moving the fitting, I extended the valve and oiler with a 12" length of hose, so that it would be free hanging. For me, that was a better solution for temporary use of this, so that the oiler and valve wouldn't be hanging in space. For bench mounting, I like your mod better. Good tip on the hose being a weak link, too.
I made a modification to my paint shaker that did not alter it, or void the warranty. Rather than threading the shut off valve into the shaker, I threaded a female air coupling into it, and a male air coupling onto the shut off valve. Now I can completely remove the oiler/shut off valve assembly when the shaker is not in use, or to make refilling the oiler easier.
It would Christopher, but I never take the easy way...lol. I wanted it totally out of my way. A street ell would've helped, but wasn't what I was going for. Good thought though! It will give others something to consider. Take care, G.
I know everone has their own way of doing things but, why not just put an elbow at the valve? Seems it would be better protected by the length of the housing.
Hind sight is always 20/20- especially after looking over others shoulders. I don't know if what you suggest would be better or not. This is just the way I chose to roll. Good luck and take care, G.
Why would you put the hole directly over the mounting hole? Putting to one side wouldn't harm anything, since it's strictly a personal choice where you put it, and you'd have the option of using the mounting hole if needed. Otherwise, a fine idea.
