+KoNLaR Where the fuck is the owner, I loved listening to what the owner has to say. Literally the worst review ever, 1/19, unsubscribed, disliked. Hurr durr, I am an angry commenter that needs to complain
+KoNLaR Sad thing is, is that a lot of owners probably see the comments and dont want to be shown or possibly not want to show their car based on the idiot trolls.
As an owner of a 16 S6 with similar work done to it, I can tell you that the car DOES NOT HAVE SPRINGS. I lowered the car via the factory air suspension, and the car does handle better. In terms of exhaust, I did downpipes but chose to leave the factory sport exhaust. It is loud under WOT with dynamic mode/trans in sport, but in auto or comfort, it is super quiet. I plan on adding exhaust cutouts soon for that "fuck you" noise that I desire once in awhile.
♡ Kleinr Schmetterling ♡ (Liberty Schulz) If you look closely, the owner of the car is back there and when he pans around the car, the owner hides behind the car lol
Greetings from germany. Once, I was a co-driver in a 2015 Audi RS6 Avant. It was a great joy, extremly fast for such a heavy car and so practically. A shame that they are not sold in U.S.
+Jordan Erickson I mean, the price you pay for an Audi it better be built with quality and good looking. I own a B5 A4 and its held up well, but its unfair to compare Audi to ALL American car makers when there is really only one (Cadillac) that is a direct competitor and makes cars as expensive as Audi.
The DSG box has torque limiters for each gear which is why it upshifted early even in manual mode, you can have the DSG box remapped to change the rev limiter. When tuning things like the Golf R you usually tune the box when you do the engine but maybe if this tuned V8 engine was already pushing the gearbox anyway maybe better to have that margin of protection. That's said it is robbing you of some of that top end power.
Never been in a car with a DSG so please don't hate. But here's a dumb question: If you come to a complete stop while still in 5th gear in manual mode, does the car shift back to 1st on its own?
@@ImAHelicopterItIsSir Yes, currently 107K and the turbos are original. I treat them well though, idle 10-20 seconds at startup and idle 10 seconds before shut down. The '13 is the one with the screen issue and it's been revised in the later years. Mine is a '13. To be fair, turbos were pulled under waranty to replace the PCV (their verson of it) in '15 or '16 and its possible they did the TSB at that time. However there was no mention of it on the service report.
Even badged mine is quite the sleeper since I make about 50whp more than this one. Get loads of sports cars trying to play and getting shut down real quick once I step on it haha
Hey Mat can you tell me how does this drive compare to a f10 550i? I currently drive one but it feels like a big boat thinking about getting the s6 or s7 instead
+Big Boss i was just about to ask him to compare it to a M5 but that wouldn't be fair lol, but then again this is a Modded S6 its not stock, your 550i might be even better if you modified it
+Ghazi This s6 it's just simply a better car. Modding or not. 480hp stock, 563hp Apr stage 1 on 93 octane..this is faster even than the m5 , not even mentioning the 550i...I can tell you this pretty accurate since I own one, and before getting the s6 my other choice was a 650i Xd , which I test drive and really there is no comparison , s6 feels faster , have faster turbo response ,better cornering , feels lighter and better brakes . After test driving both cars deciding on the s6 was a easy decision
+Big Boss Get any , either s6 or s7 depending on your budget . I own a s6 , I also test drive a s7 before to buy this, I did't really felt any difference on how they drive but fo me since I was coming from a A7 3.0 Supercharged I didn't felt like getting exactly the same car just different engine , so I got the s6. Also , for me the s6 brings more of the technik style :)
What a beast! Sounds great, and drives the part too. Blending agility & ride quality, and authoritative loudness & quiet cruising isn't an easy feat. But by god, this S6 has done it! And it will only get better from there. My '89 Grand Marquis should be something like this 2 years from now speed-wise. An all aluminum 302 with forged everything should save me at least 150 pounds, while making more power, more reliable power, and more usable power than stock. Won't be making 520 at the wheels, but she'll only weigh some 3450 pounds without me in it. Not bad for old iron. :-) Brakes, chassis, and transmission needs to get done first though. 4R70W swap, poly everything, big brakes, etc.
I didn't upgrade to the cooled seat because they don't have that awesome diamond stich. They are as comfortable as they are good looking. Phx to Seattle in 2 days (29 hours seat time) and never got uncomfortable.
+Revolt Funny i just started listening to the Podcasts from the beginning. Matt is currenttly "Sober" for many weeks. I had a feeling he would be back.
+Rottensteam That's what I love about a lot of German V8's: They can weigh a ton, but manufacturers will always counteract it with more low end torque!
As an owner of an s6. The biggest insult the car ever gets from others is “it’s a dad car” “ it’s to heavy to perform or compete” I’ve driven a m4 an m3 a c63s and many more cars that are lighter. It feels the same for majority of the ride. Like you said extremely light on its feet. It may be heavier but it doesn’t feel that way. And when you push it up to big numbers it can do more than compete
Hands down my favourite car still, years after seeing this video the first time. I have a 400-450hp APR stg2 A6 and saving for an S6. An S6 at stage 2, with RS turbo on it (a legit option supported by APR), make 600hp/617tq on 91, 634hp/671tq on 94 gas (what I would do), and peak 707/714 on race gas!! That's the same power as a Hellcat !!!
Hey Matt & guys at the smoking tire, do you think you could include exhaust notes at the beginning of the video while doing the intro? tell what exhaust it is and a little rev or 2. just a suggestion I really love watching your videos! Thanks again!
+TheSmokingTire Thanks! Really looking forward to lots and lots of vids of your car! :D I want to get one of those and an audi rs6 avant if i can get one somehow into Canada
@TheSmokingTire considering APR makes and has done RS7/6 turbos swaps onto S7/6 models the dual clutch can most likely hold these lower levels of power.
The 1.8t was the deep Roots where all these new Audi motors came from. Where they learned how to make big torque out of small displacement efficiently.
I just bought a 2018 A6 and its such a comfortable vehicle to drive, and gorgeous to look at, as well. Doesn't have to be an S or RS for me, I just love how they look and make other people look 😉
The stock DSG box does automatic down and up shifts even in manual, which is a pain. The fix is a DSG remap, which can make the manual mode like an actual manual :)
Audi/quattro GmbH also said the 5spd auto in the C5 RS6 was the only transmission that could handle the increased torque from the 4.2 biturbo; lo and behold the hundreds of broken trans and torque converters since then (at stock power levels, mind you)! I'm sure they'll find the limits of the dual clutch in the S6 soon enough. Speaking of transmissions, Matt Farah, when will we see your Vanquish?!
Hi Matt, when are we the internet going to get to see either a one take or a full review of your R32 GTR? Or, are there some mods that are yet to be announced being done?
Anybody know why Audi doesn't bring the RS6 to the US? Bmws got the M5 and Mercedes got the E63...I've heard the RS7 is supposed to fill that gap but isn't that more a competitor to the bmw M6 gran coupe and Mercedes's E63 wagon?
James Lovett looks lumpy from the back and looks like a radiator from the front. And from the side it looks like a regular sedan. If you like that then good. I don't . I get it why Audi and BMW and VW do it. They're a bit conservative with the looks, kinda neutral. But for me it looks like they havent really tried. And in areas they have tried they've done either too much or just added more bulk. So for me, its a brick.
That is a nice car, man. I'm really loving it, too. Huge step up from my old 1994 Mercedes C280 I drove years back. Both Euro luxury, but this S6 blows it out of the water in terms of power.
Matt, traction control is keeping the rev locked a grand below where you want it... Disable it and it will not restrict you from go higher. Not sure why Audi chose to do that but its the same on the S4 and most of the s models in general. Nice review by the way
Great video Matt! I've really been feeling the S6's lately and this gave me a good idea on how to make mine. You should do a GT-R next ^_^ I really liked the Supercharged Acura Type-R AND the Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo video. Thank you Matt for always delivering and making each video enjoyable for us to watch! I also haven't been feeling any BMW's because I feel like they've lost their excitement. To me they just seem like regular cars. I've never owned one so I wouldn't know.
Meh, I don't know, the GTR was cool for a few years for what it could do, but it is old news now. and the design "not good" and a little dated. No match for the epic R34. I'd mutch rather have the audi, even when stock.
I see a broken seam between the airbox and intake. A big car like that looks ridiculous lowered that much. The exhaust tips look horrible sticking out so far. Sloppy and no taste here. That S6 deserves better.
You can tell this guy is not giving this car a full honest review. He's like "meh it's" okay but deep down inside he knows that car is a beast. This video gets my 👎👎
Was it set to sport mode? Common mistake, but this is what would cause the car to shift on it's own before redline. I've driven S7's where even on automatic they go all the way to redline as long as sport mode is on if I recall correctly
+MrNanobot subaruwrxfan just posted an older S6 yesterday; same problem. From my forum perusal it looks like the auto-upshift cannot be disabled. Failitude IMO.
+TheSmokingTire Gearbox needs to be in M mode for you to have full control. Sport mode is like Porsche's sport PDK mode where it is just an aggressive shift mapping for the transmission, but you can still intervene with paddles in that mode too you just won't have full manual control.
The dual clutch cant handle more then 400lbs of torque. It basically cuts the life of the transmission in half. The 2nd or 3rd owner will have to deal with is sadly :/
520 whp is indeed a bit more than the RS6's 500-ish dyno numbers you can find online. I wonder if you can limit boost and ignition in the lower RPM range, that way it could still keep below 450ft lbs at the wheels, but still make that 520 hp at the top end. Remember it's torque, not HP that breaks gearboxes, and if you could limit that, it'll survive for a reasonably long time. Now just slap a 2.0 TDI badge on the rear of that thing and troll some idiots at a stoplight.
Agree with limiting torque. Idk why all tuners brag about torque numbers so much. A better top end is really what suffers on these modern day turbo engines, extra torque isn't necessary and just kills gear boxes.
+maxjtj31 Because fatter low end tq curves is the kind of power that's usable in more daily driving in areas w traffic and other cars. engines tuned for more power and tq on the high end are better suited for race tracks and more open winding empty roads where you can actually run the revs higher more of the time. the car manufacturers assume more of their buyers belong to the first category
@Matt Farah, is it possible to post the owners IG page, or a link to his/this C7-S6 to see what it looks like with the ADV.1's he's gone with, Appreciate it in Advance
+TheSmokingTire I have a modified e90 335i with HPS Hawk track/comp street pads. Will the RBF600 fluid work well with the lightly modified brake situation I have? I added the BMW M Perfoemance Rotors and Calipers if that helps. I know most fluids are ok on street cars but wasn't sure if you run into a situation where you have to replace quicker etc. thanks Matt!
+THE TRUTH MACHINE Reking bullshitters everywhere! In car is recorded with a Zoom H4N, while drive by's are recorded with a GoPro on a gimbal. If you have high quality speakers you will notice this
6:30 @TheSmokingTire If you have it in drive and then you switch the gear stick to the right side, where it says +/-, it is not changing gears by it`s own. At least when I testdrove the TT, the RS3, RS6 and the SQ5 it was like that.
+xOOx465 My 2016 S6, in Dynamic Mode, Manual Shift does exactly the same thing - hammer it and it upshifts by itself. Need to spend some time with the manual to see why it is doing that - not what I would expect.
+Ian Findlay This is a gear box tune. You have to get a tune specifically for the DSG from one of the tuners for $1000 like APR and it will no longer do this. But its just a factory setting unfortunatly
i had a 2004 audi s4 quattro 6spd.. car couldnt take my driving..worst motor 4.2..i am back on a audi 2004 a4 1.8t quattro 6spd S-LINE ..weak ass motor..but good mpg..this car should of came minimum 220hp for the 3600lb car
+dangerhighvoltages I checked the pictures on AWE's website to what it supposed to look like, it does indeed look like it's broken... The owner should check if it's still airtight as this allows dirt to be sucked in the engine. Also, there is an explosion of white goo on the other side of the engine as seen at 0:33, can't think of any fluid in the car that would leave that kind of a mark.
AWE doesn't make a turbo back exhaust for this car. they have a full exhaust with downpipes. nothing is offered for the headers. and the car comes oem with air suspension, you lower it by links or module.
