Hey Matt and Ryan! I had originally placed an order back in May for a Manual transmission Willy’s 2 Door in Anvil. I began to search for vids and remembered seeing your channel in the past SO I came back to it and in September, I put in another order for a Sport Anvil 2 door similar to Ryans that will be arriving Dec 5th this year. This will be my first Jeep and I just wanted to take a second to say thank you guys for all the great info and resources that you put out! I’m excited beyond measure, I’m also ready to pull the trigger on a bunch of the products you’ve reviewed! I’ll be looking into the affiliate program, too. I have a 2024 extreme recon Rubicon now but I had a 2021 two-door Rubicon and it was truly amazing. There is just something about having a two door that I miss!

Bumpers would be a logical next mod. With it being a 2 door, weight is always a concern. Exploring the differences between steel and aluminum bumpers might be interesting. (Is the weight savings worth it?) Fenders would also be a good one. If I've read it correctly, Factory Rubicon fenders sit higher which would give additional clearance for the tires. Might be cool for that still factory look and perhaps less expensive getting some take-offs from a Rubicon owner who is replacing them. If you go lights, that seems like a video all by itself comparing the different lights, mounts, locations, s-pod/voswitch system, etc. Looking forward to whatever you guys decide on.

2dr is what a real Jeep is in my head. I have 1966 CJ-5, and We currently own 2 2013 2dr JK’S. But a 4 dr is what we all need. I just made a deal on a 392

Again guys, absolutely incredible video!! This was super informative and when I build my Gladiator next year I’m going to have to budget for a re-gear as I’m planning on 37s with a 3.5”… Also currently all stock I’m averaging 20.1 mpg on a 15 miles round trip commute… As always, keep up the awesome work!! 👍

Yep. I don’t often hit 8th, but I do sometimes. I’ve got plenty of pep in my 2-door, BUT I have the 2.0L with eTorque. 2.5” lift with 315/70BFGs on the base sport JL. I DID need to run my tires through several heat cycles to get them to settle. But, my brakes though absolutely are the biggest difference. They just cannot keep up with the extra weight. That is going to be my next upgrade needed. My MPG went from 21 to 19.5. And, dang it! I would give you my hard top if I was closer.

Love the wheel choice. I plan on re-gearing my Willys to 4:88, but I have a 6MT. l totally agree, with my MT Coopers, and 3+” lift, the ride is perfectly stable, smooth, and quiet. And the power is decent even at 3:45 gears. I believe that mpg will actually improve with the re-gear and added weight of bumpers and winch.

I’ve got a jk 5 spd with 35x10.5 and the highway gears. Most of the time not having regeared yet is ok. But if I tow anything or off-roading I definitely can tell I need to regear. I’m waiting to be able to add lockers at the same time but till then enjoying the ride.

I've got a 3" lift on 37's , still running 4:10 stock gears. I'm getting 14-15 mpg. Jeep looks great Ryan 👌👌

The MT A/T are terrific...I had Wildpeaks M/T's which were very nice as well however the MT's are superior for my needs.

Interestingly I find my soft top Wrangler, which is parked outside under a carport to actually not be anymore uncomfortable than my wife’s hardtop Gladiator that we park in our garage during the winter. And I have the Willys Sport with a manual so I can’t pre-heat it either. The big defrost button blows the windshield clear is a few minutes, and with a backup camera it’s easy to backup with the other windows frosted over; and it seems that the snow sheds off the canvas faster than a hard sided top.

I have 2 door a JL that came with a hard top. I bought a soft top and it’s not much louder. As a matter of fact, I bought a 2024 rubicon with a soft top because I didn’t want a hard top. Only downside is less security for anything you leave in the jeep.

Lower the tire air pressure down to 30 and drive it again, then try 28 and drive it again. You will notice it will ride much smoother and the contact patch of the tire will be better. At 34-35psi that is set too high. I like the idea of 4.56 gears and agree with that being a solid choice

running my 35's MT's at about 28psi...had them at 25 which was terrific for local driving however raised them during summer as we did a lot more hiway driving.

I too have a 1.5 lift on my JLU Sahara. Which fox steering stabilizer would you recommend for daily driver and only off roading is on the beach in Daytona? See ya best year. Thank you for your help and suggestion

JL stock OEM brakes are fine with 35” MT tires. After 37,000 miles, my rear brakes are still 90%, front brakes around 80%. Where did you put castor at…7? I’d like to see a snorkel install and graphics.

I have always thought a jeep wrangler is a 2 door. No hate on the 4 door. But 2 door is always where it is. I want keep my warranty valid for now which I why I won’t lift mine yet. But I want a 2inch lift with 35 tires. I think next since me and Ryan are working our “24 together should be bumper upgrade. Also, Ryan did you upgrade turn signal to led? Or incorporate it in to your headlights? I’m interested to see if better bumper will make you change re-gear or change what you think about the brakes.

I would go 4.88's for a re gear. My thought being , that if you add weight like bumpers, winch ect it will counter the effect.

How about "winter Jeep EDC: 2-door vs 4-door" I have a 2-door Rubi JL and love to see what people carry in vehicle to be prepared, but they always do 4-doors.. True comparison of size difference is what you can carry. Plus you have some great Amazon-finds that could be added. Great rig so far, you're reminding me of my first 5k miles! 5 years later and I love it just as much, congrats

I wheel a '22 2 door Willys with 315/70r17s, stock 3.45 gears and a 6MT. It's honestly not bad in 4lo. We crawl rocks, mud holes, steep rocky climbs, the work. Could it be better with 4.56 gear? Obviously! But that wouldn't be my next upgrade. Bumper/Winch first, then gears and lockers. When you do gears, you'll want to add lockers because you're already in there.

What size tire and lift do you recommend for a 4 door jeep JL 2020sport s ? I don’t plan to off road as much as this is my daily driver so I want it keep it good for daily driving but still have the capabilities if I do wheel it a bit. (Very minor to medium off roading) Mainly for overloading and travel. Thank you so much!

I got a four door 2018 JKU. My gear ratio is a 3.21 and I have 285/70r17 tires. Just got a two inch BDS lift with fox shocks and eventually want to maybe get 315/70r17 to keep my stock rims or upgrade to 35’s. What would be a good gear ratio to have?

Ordered..July 29th Scheduled..September 15th day of the strike 😢 In production..November 21st Vehicle built..TBD Shipped..TBD Estimated delivery..December 11th. I guess this could give someone an idea of ordering there jeep in a 2 door,the strike really put a dent in the making.

The air pressure is too high for this light Jeep. 29 psi at the front and 26 psi at the rear would be my suggestion.

35” tires with 3:46 ratio is perfect. If you do decide to go higher with tires, definitely need to change gears.

You are abusing the transmission and will never get it into top gear until you re-gear. Love what you’ve done so far, but please don’t think a re-gear is optional at this point. It’s mandatory if you want to do it ‘right’.

WRONG … I’ve owned Jeeps for over 3 decades & only once did I need a re-gear with an anemic “minivan powered” 2012 JKU due to the transmission gear spans. Power delivery is completely subjective & anybody saying that re-gearing is necessary is casting their OPINION. You have an OPINION chief … so stop pretending you’re a prophet or the final say. GFY
