Did you change any component, because of the 9 volt battery? Or did you solder it in place, and that's it? I maybe want try it on my fly swatter. I already installed A 0,22 capacitor, that creates a nice spark, but i want more,to have fun with the flys.
I found one of these recently, repaired water damage and it's been kinda ok with original battery except the battery doesn't last long. It makes mosquitoes and small moths explode but I'll think about your mod here thanks! One thing they aren't good for is larger moths, although they die right away, too much current across the "grid" really kills the battery. I can tell by the smell that it's just burning outer extremities and doesn't get the inside cooking like crab.
Series is better in this case fron what i have Come to understand. In parallel the voltage of rach cap is being added on top of each other. In Series the voltage is being multiplied, i think, but i am All but a professional. Please correct me, if i am talking shite.
Fyi 9 volts are too many amd eventually you'll do nothing but short circuit and then its useless. Volts make the arc jump further. *not needed* hook up several AA's or C's in PARELLEL and you increase the amps. You want more amps than volts.
Look at how much space there is in the handle, how you gonna hook several AA batteries in parallel? 9V batteries have around 3x times the amperage of AA batteries, so you increase the amperage a little bit more than having 2 AA batteries without having to make some ugly thing with batteries strapped on the outside.
