Thanks for your videos. I love them ! They are every time a good start in the sunday. I'am really jealous for those kind of car. All the best from Germany.
Previous cars we've owned were the 4.8 and 4.5l patrols and both have been very reliable, we now also have a 3.0 Common rail and have only ever had one major problem due to the fact of it being diesel and the engine wouldn't start. other than that they are all reliable cars.
Zac Wilson : You reckon the 3.0 TD can do all the tough tracks that the 4.+L ones could? looking into buying a new one.. herd 3.0 is way underpowered, wud like your opinion.
Mujahid Rasheed obviously 2 years too late, but for anyone else wondering this: once you have done the boost control mod (Dawes and Needle, bigger exhaust and egt/boost gauge) this car has plenty of power. They obviously aren’t the fastest cars on road but in low range they go great.

Hi Ronny. i love listeing to you mate- been a fan for a few months now - this is an old video, I just stumbled upon but the best part is i just received my used nissan patrol in good condition , which is on zd30ddti 3.0 diesel in qld, and owner kept it in a great condition. if you have any tips for its regular maintenance, can you let me know, cheers ~ kam < keep up the good work mate~ >
I have a the same rig as you. Why do you need Niddle valve and boost valve? Did that helped you with the fuel economy to jump from the 18 to 10-12 / 100lts. Thanks in advance for the tips. Seeya around. Stay safe
Tillix and needle valve makes the turbo spool up faster and hold boost while you accelerate or put the patrol under load. Honestly it’s like driving a completely different vehicle.
Great Video Ronny. i look forward to every videos of yours. It made me buy GR patrol lol (GU patrol with LHD). I am wondering if you know whether i can use 35" tire on my patrol with 2" lift. looking forward to other modified videos.
Nick Stone I'm looking at getting one as well. It seems that from factory they're detuned to pass emission laws but with a few mods like 3" exhaust, bigger intercooler and chip they're not too bad.
Pre 2006 are direct injected, also known as 'the grenade' ( if that's not saying something). Post 2006 are the common rail engine, with a few mods can be a very reliable engine.4.2 is king though

help me ! having problems with my 2001 3L Di ,its puffing crankcase fumes and oil from the top right of the engine,it hasn't realy lost power and no smoke or oil from exhaust, 0r over heating and I've never had a diesel engine before, so if anyone knows what it is or some things i should do that would be great, . . . . .thanks
+TenaciousD see this web page which has everything in detail about this Patrol in Episode 7: www.4-wheeling-in-western-australia.com/gu-patrol-wagon.html
pre 2007 i wouldnt get one as they're the direct injection models. many people like my old mad has had there engine give out. The common rails have sorted most problems but still need a few mods to make it a good reliable truck
