Rainbow midges are some of my go to attractor patterns when fishing small midges for trout. They are bright, and shiny and just plain work. This is one tied very similar, but I added a ribbing with wire, and also used the feathers of my hen who died. I plucked her feathers for fly tying since they were so pretty. I figured I would honor her with a fly that matched her personality which was very flashy. She was loud, and would strut around as if she knew just how pretty she was.
