It was between these and the Cloud Defensive when I chose my main defensive light. The programmability of the Cloud won over but now that Modlite has the dual output heads, I may try to grab one of those later. Solid US made light.
The small rubber o-ring that comes with the Thyrm LPC goes onto the tail, then the LPC. Once tightened down fully, it literally is super tight and no spin at all! I think the Thyrm LPC product page specifies this for Modlites
Multi mode is great! I used to carry two lights like you but now all I need is the modlite. The low mode is perfect for normal everyday tasks. Let me know if I can help you get one from the states. I live about 3 hours from where these are made in Texas.
Considering it's intended use as you stated, I agree, in that small package with that much candela and with a huge outer beam, on top of that the knuckle point with compounded force and potted to take extreme abuse, that is a FANTASTIC light! It seems to me my all-round light leans towards the Weltool T8 Plus. That sucker does about everything, and quickly. Still, one could carry that Modlite as defense and another very small pen light for EDC use. Now that combo, has me thinking.
The full size 18650 Plhv2 multimode is my perfect light. Super bright, throwing high mode and a low mode in a tail clicky. Potted and takes a thyrm. Perfect for me.
I also love that the high/low has a very quick reset time, unlike the cloud. In my estimation, it is probably a .25 sec reset time! I can momentary it faster than three times a second and it still comes on as high. Only if I quickly momentary then click does it go to low.@@flashlightcrazy
Honestly, if these were priced at $200 like clouds MCHs they would be a lot more desirable for me. I put my Modlite heads on my Surefire EDC turbo 18350 and 18650 bodies. I love that combo. It's basically a $200 Modlite now.
1. Which one is better in your opinion - this Modlite or Welltool LH8 6500K head + BB6 body? 2. Which of these two has a bigger hotspot? I can’t understand the distance from light to the wall, so it’s hard to understand if this Modlite has proper hotspot for self-defence purposes in close/middle range of the fight. 3. And the last very important question - isn’t it an issue that all these single output tactical lights has any locking modes? If it accidentally turn on in the pocket or a bag - that will be not pleasant experience? What do you think about it? Thank you for your reviews! Interesting to watch as always Wish you the best
Dude thank so much i was wondering why i miss i got my light facing the wrong way this whole time watch out now im on the case lol i also carry for flashlight and never outside in the night time i have a problem.
What do you think about this one vs the OKW-18350? The OKW has less lumens but higher candela (680 lumens and 69,000cd). Also, what website did you use to buy off the light from aus? Thinking of snatching one myself but not sure where to buy em. Great review btw!
I think this is better for medium range but the OKW is better for longer range. Although, the Weltool w35 LH1 head is the best mate. 89,000candela I bought this from someone on secondary market bro. If you want it I will sell it to you ya for what i paid if you like? Find me at Flashlight Mike on facebook and send me a PM
I really want to like this light but for $300+ dollars they need to improve that runtime! Perhaps one of the worst I’ve heard of. I’ll have to pass on this version modlite. Nice thorough review 👍🏼
The Weltool T13 has the same runtime. Single mode, high candela 18350 lights won't last long without massive, quick lumen/candela drop. Now that Modlite has 2 modes, it gets much longer run time in low and then use the high when necessary. I have the 18650 as well as the Cloud Defensive and that's how I use them.
meh. you bought an american gun culture light. remember these are made for blue collar idiots fueled on race based fear and high interest credit cards. these is absolutely nothing special about that brother. a fool and his money. you arent from here and don't understand @flashlightcrazy
