Hey! Thanks for checking it out. I commented on that a bit in the video (it's a long one so I don't blame you for missing it). This one is a first gen so the knobs are a bit looser, but the second gen has the better knobs and the USB port which is also an upgrade (patch management and easy updates and stuff). The USB port on the back only came on the newer hardware so if you're looking around for one, try and snag that one if you can. =)
@Duskmos I've got the modor dr2 and the knobs and faders are really poor. How do you rate these on this unit compared to other devices? One of my knobs os actually very wobbly!
The unit is built like a tank. The jacks and chassis are super sturdy. This is the first gen (and a review unit that has been shipped around the world a number of times) and the knobs are definitely the weakest link for sure, but the second generation onwards has new pots that are apparently much sturdier. Look for any unit that has USB, if it does, then that's the second gen and your best bet.
A great digital synth and one I use a lot since I bought it a few years ago. I have a load of '90s VA stuff and analogue synths, but the NF-1 stands out really well compared to all of my other synths. Love the filters, the modulation capabilities and the effects are also very handy to have. Overall, I was very impressed with it and I find it fun to program patches with.
Glad to hear you’ve had a great experience with it! I love the filters and effects too - haven’t tried the modulation wire system much but I appreciate that it’s there haha. Thanks for sharing 🙌
