In terms of improving the look of characters while also staying faithful to the original art style I'm very happy with Character Expansions Revised + Vanilla Hair Retextured along with the hair shine fix. The overhaul in this video does look impressive though.
I really like this actually stays pretty faithful to the faces in the original. I hate that one common one that people use that makes everyone look so serious and depressed.
Great video. I'll definitely try the character kit remakes. Stewie Tweaks already allows you to set the number of points you start with, the number of points you get on leveling up, AND the number of perks you get per level. NOT having to choose between perks is in itself a real game-changer. You're choosing which perks to get FIRST. I spend at least a full hour setting up Stewie Tweaks in the custom ini before a new game.
what i love about the chracter kit is it works wih pretty much any npc that used vanilla textures so you no longer have the quest mod npcs looking out of place.
Love Character Kit Remake but I had a gnarly bug with the male face textures. Going to see if it's been fixed with the most recent update. I was also using Vortex so that could of been the problem. Switched to MO2
I’ve heard that turning archive invalidation off and on again fixed it for some people. This dumb method of fixing things sounds too stupid to fix something like this but for some reason it has worked here
7:36 I literally never ever pick swift learner. It's a waste of a perk slot. Sure you level up faster but there's SOOOO many ways to get exp you'll always hit level cap if you're doing a long playthrough. You're just losing out on something that will permanently benefit you. Meanwhile swift learner stops being useful once you hit max level.
I disagree. if you do the skilled trait, you get +10 every skill with -10% XP, but then if you get the Swift Learner trait oyu pretty much just cancelled out the skilled trait, which is in a way funny.
@@ytmld Yes. BUT even without it you can still hit max level eventually. Sure it takes a little more grind but enemies are endless sources of exp. And eventually you'll hit max. You could have had something more useful the whole time though. Now obviously if someone is speedrunning or a challenge run that's a different story. Optimization is everything. But if you're just doing a casual/long playthrough. There's no point. Even if you get less experience, you will hit the cap eventually.
Honestly, Character Kit is really a hit-or-miss thingie. Some characters are actually improved, but others are exact the opposite. The biggest pet peeve though is how "blurred" all the facial features with it look, which is the most noticeable with raiders and older races. So yeah, it's very much a personal taste mod rather than the "ultimate character improvement mod".
When is next live stream? Also can you do a Stabilizing new vegas as yours looks butter smooth in the game. I keep getting loading stutters and frame drops
The picking animation reminds me of AREA mod - which is quite nice if you can get into. While GAMMA and EfP focus on quantity AREA focuses on tweakings and chances to current system. It also controls almost like mil sim...
Make sure you used the 4gb patcher and if youre playing with texture mods or resolution above 1080p you need to use New Vegas Tick Fix. Use Viva New Vegas guide
About the hands mod I think it’s useless because lore wise most people living in a wasteland would have rough hands like that for example I’m 18 and my hands already look like old man hands because I work construction and I do lots of working out it doesn’t take long for your hands to get rough looking when your working with your hands lots
AI is going to advance mods like we’ve never seen. We can generate any voice lines we want, giving us literally any kind of story outcomes that our brains can concoct. (I say we even though I haven’t ever created mods I mean we as in the Fallout community)
@@nevyanplamenov5409 I mean generating voice lines on its own is already very doable. There’s already people making AI mods for New Vegas thankfully! One is a vendor in novac who’s got a bunch of fresh dialogue but is ai voiced. It’s just crazy to think about how this will effect mods going forward.
@@euan6959Making completely AI generated quests will be a bit harder to work with, since it might just break quests or other things already in place in the game.
@@nevyanplamenov5409not really. There's mods already for Skyrim that allows you to talk to any NPC using your mic and it uses chatgpt to respond. Allowing it to be asked pretty much anything. There's also follower mods doing it now as well. That could be combined with quest mods
FCO was pretty good but only bc of the facial hair, ghoul, and eye improvements. aside from that, most ppl looked the same. like in skyrim n shit. NVR3 is amazing. has alot of immersive addons like rotting corpses and all that. Brave New World is good if you install voices only. Drag's NPCs and that new NPC replacer that came out not too long ago are all great but without other incompadible face mods, the overhauled NPCs stick out like a sore thumb and some have unlootable armour. they can also break ur game without manually removing and adding shit yk. These new mods are amazing. though there needs to be more patches for essential quest mods, follower mods, and NPC addon mods.
does character kit remake work with dragbody’s overhaul? i want to use the clothes and armor from dragbody but i’m not sure if it will conflict with the face meshes
yes since dragbody makes custom races for his npcs, it'll only conflict with mods that alter the base game races like new vegas redesigned 3 revised, or brave new world w/ the face changes.
The mods make me want to reinstall new vegas And spending all night and day trying to get the mods to work remind me why it's been uninstalled for years
@@xFierceDeityx-wx5nh I just tried to get the Character Kit Remake stuff, since creating characters is my favorite thing to do in these games, but I had to find all the male and female bodytype things that are mentioned being needed in the downloads, but they're not linked in the recommended section. I also had to go through all the comments on all the Character Kit mods to find the loadorder for them. I think it was page 3 on the Hands mod that someone finally asked and got answered. Then when I get in the game, my characters body skin tone doesn't change with the head. All the fixes I tried didn't work, So I quit.
S6S Perk Pack & Overhaul really helped me with my Senator Armstrong playthrough of TTW, I eventually became an absolute unarmed beast for sacrificing most of my S.P.E.C.I.A.L points in favor Endurance, Intelligence and Strength.
Having an issue with the Sweet 6 Shooter Perk Pack, I installed the regular NV version since I don't have TTW, but whenever I try launching the game through MO2 NVSE, it says I'm missing masters, then lists all the Fallout 3 and TTW esms as what I'm missing. Is there any way I can use the mod without getting TTW?
Using this modlist, in the character creator, there is the texture for another face over the face, and its just a little lower, makes my characters look like burn victims, any suggestions?

It’s really good but it needs a fix. Male faces have lines under there eyes and what seems to be a faded mouth on there chin. It sucks too cause it really it a amazing mod
@@TW-fs3fj through questing/killing playing the game you will gain enough exp to reach level 50 regardless of a skill increasing exp gains. When compared to other skills that alter gameplay/character I would say it is a wasted perk.
@@EriLikesStars Idk about that being realistic lol. At 30 you're pretty much wondering, "which perk is the least bad?" More stats and xp are the best perks because most other perks suck or aren't realistic in their balancing.
i tried the character kit overhaul and in my opinion, its disappointing. First, the vanilla ear texture are stuck on my characters neck. And second, every npc now looks horrible!
Does anyone know how to update JIP LN NVSE within Mod organiser 2 for FNV? Im new to modding and dont want to ruin or crash my game by trying to do it myself
