I really appreciate the attention to detail. I also value seeing the troubleshooting process from an educational standpoint. In a practical sense, I'm not sure if going through that troubleshooting process in the final video helps anyone else; I do not doubt it could be a hindrance from a strictly "follow instruction -> execute" premise. Still in all the post-production process for video editing is a bear, and I once again appreciate the work.

Just in case anyone is having issues with the engine idle going higher up than the set RPM value, I changed the function to clamp(x, y, z), and set X to the w/s throttle, y to the minimum throttle (the one that calculates minimum RPM) and z to a max throttle value (between 0 and 1). That has solved my issue. Now I'm just playing around with the pid controller and finding the values that I'm happy with. EDIT: I found that this configuration works best, it doesn't stay 100% on the idle RPS that i set, but it bounces around .5 more or less, but I think it sounds alright. Proportional Gain: .3 Integral Gain: .000001 Derivative Gain: .1

For the brakes, i usually put it in an up/down counter to simulate ABS with a reset that triggered when the brake is NOT pressed

i have an issue with the placement of the coolant manifold, where i want to put it on the cylinder but because i im doing an engine where theres cylinders (or pistons) on all sides of the crank shaft and i was wondering if i could just put the manifold on the crank shaft- edit: i figured i could put the manifold on the side of the cylinder thats facing the starter etc

can you use the jet exhaust not to push you forward, but just as a passive exhaust system?

Well it would look cool, like for a bigger exhaust but if it don’t work that’s fine I was just curious @@TheCatstronaut

i usually love your videos but the amount you jump around, and back track is painful when you're following step by step, also you should say what values you're using instead of just glossing over... I know you do sometimes but the amount you don't is a lot. but truly thank you.

Fair enough, I was partially explaining and partially building/learning on the spot, and optimizing the creations so they work correct! Otherwise it is too difficult for me to "plan" and make a perfect MC offline and then go back to film it and explain it after the fact. I will try my best next time to cover this in detail! :D I will also upload this MC to the workshop for you to use and look at my values at your own time! Thank you for your comment!

@@jessedriscoll4447 :D All good! It is a fair point when it comes to tutorials, many are not interested in the why but the how :)
