Modular Flasks (part 3). The first casting!
This is the first casting of the Modular Flask system (I cast the version 2.0 design). I cast it in LM25 aluminium. This video is long, i know. But a lot happened!
Any further castings in this modular flask project should be in much shorter videos from now on... as i feel I've covered everything properly in this video. Basically the moulds will be the same from now on, it's just the metal flask patterns that will get updated for each design.
On future castings i'll probably just recap the design changes and go straight to the pattern removal, then go to the pour and then to look at the result! - much neater and shorter! Hooray!
in this video i turn the modular 3d printed patterns into fully fledged metal casting flask sides! It's nearly as good as 3d printing metal direct (i can't wait until that technology is cheaper). There are many mistakes and many areas that can be improved upon!
