Just picked up 6 Verbos modules, and RS is one of them. I found this video on accident, and watched the whole thing. I searched everywhere for new oscillators. I found the harmonic, and complex verbos. I checked out DPO, but I just loved the acoustic quality of Verbos. Then I had to get a few more. I cant wait to see how these integrate into my system. Great Informative video. I don't want to look at Buchla because I already know that someday I have to get one.

Yeah I get the allure of Buchla too. But Serge is calling me before Buchla :)

These videos are absolutely fantastic. I'm fixing a noise generator on an ARP 2600; Mark's discussion on analog noise designs really hit home! Great series. Keep them coming.

Loved this one! Always great to hear Mark talk modular history and theory. I also recently got a Nano-Rand and I can also highly recommend it. Switchable bipolar/unipolar random is a nice touch.

I've had a play around on the Matthew's Nano Rand and I would love one, very cool unit.

Love closing my eyes while Mark is talking and picturing it's actually Louis CK.

I need to load up some Louis CK and compare, never crossed my mind.

marks explainations are very, very informative. Absolutely great!
@DivKid

yeah unreal, we were so chuffed to have an amazing couple of conversations and Superbooth with him and even more to document this in the show. Amazing!

Actually you and mark are a great duo: He is supplying the engineering perspective with all the nerdy but super interesting details while you are giving great examples of practical use or analogies that help not-so-nerdy people to understand what mark is saying. I hope to see more podcasts like that! Thanks for the effort you put into this!

I think it was a good conversation with some back and forth glad you thought so. Definitely keeping these monthly topical shows going. Trying to decide on the topic for episode 5 at the minute and get guests firmed up for it. Also looking to do more straight up "interviews" like we did with Jason Amm from IDOW.

A good topic might be the 'modular' approach/moment being co-opted by software venders like NI and Softtube.
@DivKid

not sure about that one as none of use that stuff. So we can't offer any experiences on it.

This was an awesome show! I've always been puzzled by the SoU module and Mark really broke it down! Really would like to own his Random Sampling now. PS: Check out Pink Floyd's "Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast" off of Atom Heart Mother for some great bacon frying (and other lovely morning mealtime) sounds.

I know the track, had a stint at uni of digging deep into Pink Floyd for some work and just personal listening. Going go back and hunt the bacon sound :) and yeah Mark did a great job explaining everything.

Mark was amazing on this, so much information it's nuts!

Totally! It's baffling how he can be a fountain of knowledge in interviews and yet none of his modules have manuels :-\.
@DivKid

oh really? I don't have Verbos modules so I haven't looked. That's surprising.

if you want to save a link get to 41:00 in the video (heads up XX:XX will work as a linkable time stamp using the : between the numbers and seconds) and hit share, then copy link and there's a box to tick to have a link that is at that specific time in the video. Hope that helps.
