I dont mean to be offtopic but does someone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost my login password. I love any help you can give me
Just took a shitty marker and a minute of his time to make something beautiful. He drew Blueberry's face so many times and it never got boring. His drawing style is so organic... If I could reach a tenth of his confidence, I could die happy :)
When Moebius (as Jean Gir) drew the Blueberry comics in the 1970s, he used a brush and a very basic, quick line style with short, bold strokes to render his panels and characters. So he is able here to wield that "shitty marker" very much like the brush, using only basic lines and ink strokes to execute his quick sketch.
@leomack665 artists like dali escher, basically any surrealist are for people who know nothing about art. imagination is not a tiger jumping out of a fish or a melting watch, or lame optical illusions. those are crude, sophomoric stunts and only a stone's throw from reality. moebius creates entire alternate worlds - that takes real imagination.
I've been thinking about that lately, and really I can't think of anyone as.......I can't think of the word, but unique feels close to the word I'm searching for. I know, inspired, I can't think of anyone as inspired and full of raw skill as Moebius. To this day his work looks perfect, not dated, not vogue, it looks timeless, well crafted, unique, in short inspired. Otomo comes pretty close but his work just doesn't have the same variety as Moebius.
It would be amazing to know how to draw a character as well without having to sketch it out first then render, but to do it at the same time! He's gotten to the level where its a habit to know how the face works and what parts can be simplified to cartoon form while retaining a well rendered look! I ENVY him of his experience!!!!!
It's a bit a pitty, the english world citizens only know moebius... The French-Belgian comic book industry is huge... There's 5000 new comic books appearing each year... 43 million comic books sold each year... This French-Belgian comic book industry is huge and there's hundreds of french, belgian or european drawers who are as talented as moebius... If you like comic books, take some time to see what the french-belgian industry produces !!! even if meobius is a master, he is not the only one, there's hundreds of talented drawers there !!!
that is true... but Moebius had chameleon-like abilities and a limitless imagination. He was truly free as an artist as well as a master of his craft, I think that's why he stands out so much. You can recognize his style or influence in a second. This cannot be said of many others.
@xwexarexbulletsx sorry homes, but there is a learning curve to every art form. Its not disappearing but going through an experimental phase! How do you think illustrators and comic book artists felt when the so called "fine-artists" regarded their work as mass-produced yellow-journalism garbage, yet now their work is hanging in museums! Just letting you know that you are wrong, which should let you sleep well at night!
Moebius is one of my all time favorite, this is my favorite video of him drawing,i came here today and found that he's dead...sad day. Thanks for all the inspiration master,Rest In Peace.
Mr.Moebius is one of those people in comics ,who really inspired a whole generation of other young artists....but where i feel sorry for him that those young artist never show their gratitude towards him. those artist should accept this fact and respect him....
@mittROMNEY666 more IMAGINATION than fuckin Dali?. Dude or girl whatever you are, you don´t have a single clue of what imagination is until you see a Dali painting. Dali IS imagination.
@23rdcenturyboy When can Moebius be compared to Dali? Seriously never in this life is this guy gonna be better than Dali. Don't get me wrong but they aren't even in the same drawing level, I mean i have friends that surely can draw something like this in the same time, with no sketch either, and look as cool as this one. Is not bad, but Dali is way better mate, I'm just saying.
Sigh... When we finally realize that art, music, beauty and reality are all based on our own perceptions, we stop comparing things based on better or best. They just are.
@leomack665 you know, I respect what you think. I´m just arguing because I do like Dali and the surreal stuff (not only his stuff). I know you people like Moebius and is fucking woderful really. In the en the only thing that we will agree is that we will never agree in this debate haha.
@JoeTedz Ha you got me wrong, I love comic books, and I support that comic books is another for of art, like Jamie Hewlett said, every page of comic books should be a master art.
I teach animation at a university and my student's work is largely over-digital souless garbage. But with the new digital tools it is easier to pass off bad work as servicable product which sadly it is.
@leomack665 I am quite familiar with dali, and I find his work both ugly and trite, like rancid puke spilled directly onto canvas. a dali painting is no more than a juvenile caricature of a bad acid trip, typically featuring a hideous overuse of yellow and brown, a composition with all the organization of an exploded pinata, plus the obligatory optical illusion that would be more at home on the back of a children's cereal box or appearing in a facebook quiz. dali is dogshit.
what I fear more of is that the world will probably soon lack of the talent and mastery that we have through our lives. As the greatest artist lived in their time, and this new generation the only thing they know about is "photoshop" and digital drawing, the true talent and love for the art will probably dissapear. And I want to be wrong with all my heart
