I did a little desk research and found out that these kids are led by a lady dancer named Moga. They are members of a dance studio called BEAT SURF Tendo in Yamagata, Japan! I read that "MOGA is known for taking her form of 'Soul & Waacking', which is a fusion of a style of dance which originated from the 1970’s TV show, “Soul Train”, and blended with a form of street dance called waacking"... Music flows from humanity and yet transcends humanity's frailties. Love, love, love this!
As a black man born in the Caribbean, raised in the USA, living in Canada...I've noticed one thing, music brings us together. Look at this group and how they flow to the music, it's in their soul. This was amazing to see...thank you for this.
not really, all they do is imitate us. Its how they get the comments like yours, and attention. Everything beautiful and perfect and original is from us.

Oh yes! James Brown would have TOTALLY been floored seeing this. Imagine somehow he saw it back in his day? I mean it was “taboo” for black people to move like this, seeing a group of Asian WOMEN would have blown his mind .. I think even now up in funk heaven he is seeing this & going “YASSS that’s what’s up! Whoo” hehe😆 Such fabulus choreography, but only pulled off by these phenomenal movers and shakers💃 I liked your comment, so I hope you don’t mind me nattering away🫣☺️🙋♀️
As a black american woman who grew up listening to James Brown, I LOVE THIS!! I appreciate that these dancers put every ounce of their heart and soul into this. We really are all one love. More of humanity just needs to realize it. ♥️
Why qualify your self as a black American woman? I'm not black and I'm not a women I'm A human of this planet that grew up rocking to James Brown! All good music transcends time colour and gender.
@@seamoreplant As a child, we were not exposed to other ethnicities who listened to soul music...hence, my beginning statement. In the area I grew up in, anything pertaining to black people in the 60s-70s wasn't celebrated openly. Certainly I'm not a child now and thankfully times have changed. It helps to have an open mind.
As a Human Being on Planet Earth, this choreography and style is absolutely amazing and I am so glad I finally saw it. Thank you to that whole class and team!!
You’re trying to mock the African Americans establishing that first, James brown is apart of African American history you have no reason to add some stupid stuff like that, yall always targeting black people for EVERYTHING
Gosh, this group is so crisp and smooth..absolutely beautiful to see a group like this dance to a legendary singer...awesome.. the girl in yellow pants is simply a delight to watch...
@@hitechburg He was the “ hardest working man in show business” . I attended several of his concerts as a teenager. From the moment he came on stage until he went off, you didn’t sit down. You danced the whole time he was on stage.
Finally this is surfacing with more complete footage and credit/context. This is one of the best things I’ve seen in my life; I wish this longer video was the one that went viral.
Not only can I see the soul in their dance, I can witness every beat and instrument in their moves as well. Its not just dancing to the music, its dancing in it. Absolutely love this.
I'm 68 and I go back to my preteen years jamming 🎶 with James Brown. The led dancer in front is so silky smooth, that I can't stop looking at her flow in order to see everyone else. WOW !!!! I've fallen and I can't get up. As James Brown would say , Somebody help me now !!!
Wow these dancers are amazing but the girl in the bright yellow trousers is mesmerising. I couldn’t take my eyes off her. Her movements are so fluid and rhythmic. She has perfect timing and just nailed every single move. She was living and breathing this routine. Just fabulous!!
To me as a black man watching this in a world filled with so much hate. I want to say thank you to everyone that danced their hearts out in this video. You can see that they were happy, having fun, and that is what's important here. We are the human race. If the music moves you. It shouldn't matter who's singing it. Just enjoy yourself like James Brown would say. Love this. Totally amazing.
- "Never seen such fluid movement, improvisation and synchronicity...." Except towards the end the video is completely out of sync with the sound - I hope I'm not the only one of the 3,000 commenters who noticed it. As a consequence, the dancers aren't dancing to the rhythm during much of the video. It's a shame, because the dancing is superb and the choreography refreshingly different. It tells something about the quality of the choreography and the dancers that I still greatly enjoyed the video despite the above mentioned problem (which you don't often see on today's RU-vid dance videos).
@@adoatero5129 Aight Terence Fletcher😂 so what if it aint your tempo. The whole style here is fluidity and weirdness. The dance moves arent rigid and perfect, they are chaotic and flowy. If they're slightly off beat it actually adds to the overall performance since it emphasises the weird lanky moves. Regardless they're out there dancin and expressing themselves artistically, what does a benchwarmer like yourself sitting on the sidlines know about what they're performing. If you're the 1 out of 3,000 commentors who thinks something is off i hate to break it to you.....but statistically the problem is you😂😂
@@brentrebrab You misunderstood my comment pretty much completely, and as a consequence your comment is pretty much completely off. I wrote "the video is out of sync with the sound" and "dancing is superb". Which part of those sentences don't you understand? I don't know how to say those things more clearly. Is my English a problem? (I'm not a native speaker). I'll try again slowly: I... wasn't... criticizing... the... dancers. I... pointed... out... that... the... video (what you see)... and the sound (what you hear)... are not in sync (growingly towards the end of the video). It's of course not a problem with dancing. The sound also isn't "slightly off beat". At the beginning of the video it is fully in sync, but towards the end rhythm is off a half beat (it couldn’t be off more). It's kind of cute that you think that the erroneous sound track somehow belongs to the dancing or the choreography, but of course it doesn't. It's just an editing mistake. What probably happened is that someone was given the job to replace the original music track (which consists of the music that was played through speakers in the dancing studio during the performance) with a better sounding track (a studio recording). Unfortunately the two pieces of music played at different speeds. The person who did the editing perhaps watched only the beginning of the end result, and didn't notice that the sound goes more and more off sync towards the end of the video. - “If you're the 1 out of 3,000 commentors who thinks something is off…” I’m pretty sure you didn’t read even one tenth of those comments, but correct me if I’m wrong. Anyway, I don’t “think” something is off. I know it is. I’m pretty sure that if you read my explanation above with thought, and watch the video with that explanation in your mind, you too will notice how the sound gradually goes fully off sync towards the end of the video. I suggest that you try to see and hear it, and come back to tell me whether you do or not. Remember: on my original comment I didn’t say one word about the dancing or the choreography being anything but superb. I only wrote about an editing error with the sound track.
Oh I love you guys SOOOO much! I watch it whenever I need a quick bit of cheer and that has to be a gazillion times! I scrolled through the responses here and I'm not alone in that value. Thank you for adding some love to this planet!
It's about time Asian women are represented in these dances. As a Caribbean female, I absolutely welcome their platform!!! Please keep it coming, ladies. Every culture has its sexiness, bring it ladies!
Let me just say this! The swag, the funkiness, the flow, I don't care how much a person can do isolation choreography and precision but this is what I love seeing in dance the movement, flow, swag that makes you want to join in and move.. They got everything it looks like someone been watching 70s soul train video lol..Kpop idols your turn....
My cousin sent me the short clip when it first came out. I searched high and low for this full version. Have lost count of the number of times that I’ve watched it. It is absolutely brilliant, the fusion and the laidback choreography which looks so effortless until you actually try doing it. Moga A, thank you for this.
Incredible! James Brown would’ve been impressed. Perfect blend of cultures, peoples, movement n’ sound. Incredible dancers and choreography, looking forward to seeing more.
@@dizzowthis IS James Brown, lol, I know MY OWN PEOPLE “music” and it’s from a African American aka Black American. Don’t EVER speak for MY PEOPLE and end up making YOURSELF look like a clown, lol… In the future know the HISTORY of African American.
These awesome dancers not only danced independently of each other, but also danced in sync with each other, now that's talent, this was so mesmerizing and captivating, especially the girl in the yellow pants, she was absolutely crisp and fluid and on point, she definitely has natural soul, and that is not to take away from the other dancers, but the girl in the yellow pants was swinging her arms and popping her hips and swaying her legs with such timing and soul I just couldn't keep my eyes off of her
Can not stop watching this. It is so awesome to watch. Everyone dancing is so good. The choreography is great!. Some of those moves I have never seen before. WOW!
Not so fast.. there dance is a mixture of asian precision culture. Don't let the James Brown music fool you. NOT THE REAL SOUL TRAIN DANCERS DEAL. I do like the choreography 👍
My parents turn 70 this year. I grew up listening to this, lol. It's great to see other cultures appreciating Black American culture and music, especially the positive kind.
I can't get enough of these dancers. I've watched this many times already. I've always known the soul that has flowed from Japan through Jazz, but this is a bonus.
As a 61 year old Mexican-American (male) that's been dancing since I was 12 .. that was inspirational, clean and timed so well. Usually you can tell the technical dancers 1,2,3 -1,2,3..etc, this group moved with heart and soul! Watched this too many times now..kudos!!
OMG!!! I was on Soul Train in 1973!😂 This would have blown EVERYBODY'S minds, and I am happy Polish wife turned me on to it! I am Virginia, near Charlottesville,VA. Music rules you guys!🌍🌎🌏❤🎶🎶😅
I am totally elated to see dancing to this magnitude. I am so proud of this dancing troupe. James Brown would have loved to have seen this. This is so dope!!!!
I love yall so much I'm literally in tears...of euphoria for the most coolest, smoothest, bad-ass move yall put together. That yall youngin' (w/all due respect) find the most baddest song in the world and rocked the mutha-cuttin' ish out of it. The choreography is on point. The song took me back to basement parties in Brooklyn where my peeps use to "Get Down" to James Brown. Do yall know how "Bad" you all are? Outfits smashing and everything. Thank you for the greatest RU-vid video on 2022. Yellow pants Mama, you got swaggggggggg!
Gaaaahd-daaaaaum! I don't even know where to start with this! Hard to say which is better, the choreography or the execution. And yellow pants, especially, but they were all great, individually and as an ensemble. This is the kind of thing that lifts the spirit! To high heaven!
They Rockin that Soul Train Style all day long! 70’s was the best!!💃🏽🕺🏾 Music transcends all boarders and nationalities. This is a beautiful tribute to the Godfather of Soul and those who played an instrumental role in that era of Black music and dancing !
This is excellent. Every move goes perfectly with the beat and words. I especially loved the part when their arms are moving wildly to “highhhher”. Their clothes are oddly retro and new at the same time-love the colors.
The fusion the girl in the yellow pants gave was perfect you can feel the black American culture and the Asian culture in all her moves she switches from soul to traditional Asian seamlessly. Beautiful simply Beautiful.
To use a 70s phrase, "You ain't never lied." Man there wasn't nothing like a stack of albums and just dancing in the basement, somebody barbecuing, sweating, just having fun 😁 These kids just sent me back in time 💯
This is the epitome of perfection that the godfather of soul demanded. James Brown is looking down with a huge smile. The sister in the yellow pants is so smooth it's like she has no bones. She flows like silk.
The first time I saw this, I couldn't help but hurt myself trying to copy their moves. I'm not exactly young anymore. But, I was born at a nexus that allowed me to experience the music and, dance of multiple generations. I can safely say that this is some of the grooviest, funk out there. Keep on keepin' on!
The young lady in yellow pants nailed it. Beautiful movements There's choreography, then there's choreography; there's soul, then there's soul; there's groove, then there's groove ; there's dance then there's this. There's wow, then there's WOW! Spellbound by this clip
This is sooo WONDERFUL, WONDERFUL fill with JOY!!! PLEASE, PLEASE DON'T STOP KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. THIS IS WHAT WE ALL NEED TO SEE IS BE IN HARMONY 🙏🙏🙏 with LOVE!!! THANK YOU FOR THE SHOW!!
I lived/grew up in the hood all of my youth, Harlem and Brooklyn, I grew up in the 70s, Yellow pants and the posse definitely got my respect, They are talented, And their energy is amazing, Golf clap to the ladies, They nailed it yo!😺 👍👍👍✅💯😎🐼
I absolutely am so in love with this!!! The funk, the soul, the grace.... all doing justice to the awesome music. And vice versa. I can't stop watching this. I hope they have a full song video, and many many more!
Absolutely! There's something truly captivating about watching classically trained dancers perform. Their skill, grace, and dedication shine through in every move, making it a delightful experience for the audience. Their energy is so strong and their body movements is really great, I bet you were good at dancing 💃 back in the day before you entered mother hood 😊. I pray God gives you lots of beautiful days, I’m David Greg originally from Spain Granada, I live in Austin Texas and you ?
As a white long-haired old man born in the USA, raised in southern California and still living on the Southern California coast. . . I can't stop watching this video. It just feels too good! Thank you? Is their a longer version? If not it's okay, I'll just play it over and over and over . . .
I have watched this over and over!! I love it. All of them killed it especially yellow pants and plaid jumpsuit. Sassy jumpsuit as well. They all made it come alive!!!!
They had me smiling the entire time especially the one with the black belt. These young ladies are good. The performance was clean n crisp. Their execution was stellar.
Yep. Every single move we did on dance floors across America back in the day. The girl in the yellow pants had a couple of super smooth moves to add to the collection. She was all in way in. To the marrow! Love it!!!
I'm 72 and loved dancing to James Brown most of my life along with other similar music, but these kids do the music justice. Just look at those smooth moves! Wow 😊
Our hats are off to you Moga_Almeri. Simply exquisite. All of the dancers are excellent and did a magnificent job, but I must say the young lady in the yellow pants was so good, she seemed almost to be having an out-of-body experience. You can't fake that kind of pure joy. Wonderful to watch.
I love to watch this and watch it over and over because it is beautiful. The choreography and fluidity and precision of the dance demonstrate the power of Black American culture - it transcends geography, race, and everything else- that is Soul!
That was bad ass….girl in Yellow pants was not only on point but was simply FIRE… I’ve grown up dancing like this with my brothers……best one Ive seen in a very long long time Keep it up….very inspiring ❤❤❤❤❤❤
It is interesting how they hijack our music, culture and style of clothing but don't want us living next door to them. I do recognize how music can break walls between people.

@@EPUEPUEPUEPUThat's your equivalency? "Wu tang and Bruce Leroy? And robbing them in our neighborhood? The Wu Tang Clan (1 rap group from the 90s) made asian culture look good, not the other way around. So the asians should thank them for that. Bruce Leroy (1 movie, in the 80s) which was mostly black infused culture, only difference they did karate when they fought.. big deal. Still made asian culture look good, not the other way around. As far as robbing them? Black americans are asians number 1 consumers. We are the reason they are the highest earners in America. Black Americans are the reason they can flee their 3rd world countries and enjoy all the social, political, and economic benefits that only black americans fought and died for. In return they are extremely hostile, disrespectful and racist towards fba's. They own all the "hip hop" clothing stores selling black culture, and follow blacks around like black are the ones stealing their culture. These 3rd world immigrants are the real thieves, and deserve to get robbed. As for you, I don't know why you start your comment off by saying ( *we* ) , when you know damn well you are not a foundational black american. Most likely you are an immigrant 3rd world fleeing tether like the asians, and you're projecting your jealousy and envy towardsfba's. So stop acting like you speak for us, because unlike you and these 3rd world culture vulture asians, we are not scamming immigrants.
I just literally have to say it again. I've been watching this video for at least a year and I haven't ever seen any expression of dance move me more. And I've been looking! These ladies give me joy. They make me want to learn every move they're making and join in. Let's have a giant Doing it to Death video! That everybody joins in
