I could just burst into tears 😭!!! If only I knew then that those would be some of my best years, I would like to think that I would have lived life more fully!!! Thank You, if only for a moment in my mind I hear the laughter and fun!!!! 🤣❤️🥰🙏🏾🕊
*You are still here* ! Don't talk as if you are dead, or on another planet. Remember all those times parents had to be patient? That's what we have to be now. While we are being patient, we need to look at what we can do as we put one foot in front of the other. We *will* get to where our goals are. *This pandemic is temporary* . It is not going to last. You don't want to look back and think those same thoughts again, about what you *could have* done. As long as you are moving forward, and not backwards. It's okay. We're all trying to get through this pandemic, but we should encourage each other along the way. That helps to keep hope alive. *You are going to be just fine* . You have to believe that though. The mind is a powerful thing. If you think negative, you're going to feel negative, and most likely, *you might* do negative. Try to think positive, even when you don't feel like it. Watch how your body will like it. *My opinion* . Sorry about the length of this. Blessings.
@@reallythankful2856--THANK YOU FOR THAT CORRECTION!!! I NEEDED IT!!! FEELING A LITTLE TOO SORRY FOR MYSELF INSTEAD OF BEING THANKFUL FOR ANOTHER DAY TO DO AND GET IT RIGHT!!! BE BLESSED!!!🙏🏾🕊🙌🏾❤️
MS. PATRICIA, AT LEAST YOU, ME AND A BOAT LOAD OF PEOPLE. ENJOYED THIS TIME, WITH SOME BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE AND MUSIC. OTHERS ONLY WISH THEY COULD HAVE HAD THAT EXPERIENCE. WE LIVED IT BABY GIRL ,AND NO ONE CAN TAKE THAT FROM YOU. WE CAN SIT BACK HEAR IT, AND REMEMBER IT. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF . SAFE, STRONG, AND HEALTHY. ❤✌😷
The best time of my Life was growing up in the 70's. It wasn't like it is now. We cleaned up on, Saturday morning did our chores watched Band Stand and Soul Train. And got ready for soul night at the skating rink...that's if our mama let us go.
Saturday was clean up day for us too. We went out if momma said it was okay.... Just like you said. I be miss those days.... Lots of clean fun....not much violence at all.
As a veteran skater I watch these videos & remember my time in the rink. Skatetown Wrexers was us,got to travel & compete ,I miss it so much. I am 56 a retired paramedic recently diagnosed with a muscular disease, I would give anything to skate 1 more time
I agree with you. 100 percent. ❤🙋. This music and dancing in unison. Is so beautiful. Just love it a lot. 🌹. Wish that I can do. But I can't. Are they professional dancers? Excellent
@@assiavolts3336 My Sisters and I Were the New England Roller Skating Champions!!! We were also Dance Champions!! We used to have skate moves Such as the " AERIAL WARS"!! which we Flipped and Flew All over!! The "CANNON" where I would FIRE my sisters and Girlfriend HIGH in the air and SPIN around while I caught Them!! And we had the "TOMCAT"!!! where I would Physically THROW them Like Flying Projectiles!!! My Girlfriend was a Top Notch Gymnast!!! I was very NERVOUS & HIGH ENERGY and that is where we Got our INTENSITY FROM!!! I Also had a Skate team of 6 of the SEXIEST Girls to ever put on Roller Skates!!! We called our team the SUPERBIRDS!!!
In the, 70's all I remembered was going to church. My big brother was allowed to go skating. I remembered when I would cry and ask my mom if I could go skating. Finally, the no's changed to yesss. I loved every bit of skate night. Please bring it back. ❤️❤️
Back in the DAY, bro. When black people knew how to settle an argument without resorting to pulling a trigger, breaking the hearts of families and friends (on each side of the quarrel). DANG, bro. Now even chics are seemingly quick on the trigger... At least where I'm from.
Also normaly white & other ethnies pepeole bro...A black man from Paris ! This is what this world need today a go way back to enjoying pepeole without politics & commercials manipulations. Simples things only...
If I could ‘loop’ a time in my life, that would be it!!…maybe add the 60’s to the loop…. I Loved seeing the country change for all people of color…huge steps were made…the future was so much better looking when color was included….
I miss it too. Along with the great memories is the bad memory that we black folk could only go once a week. Maybe two. But the good over shadows the bad. I love it.
Look at the fun they having, just down right having a good time, no violence, no disrespect ,no fakeness around, love all round. I'm an 80's baby and wish I could have been able to see this MAGIC. I LOVE IT
I'm right with ya...enjoyed watching this so much. It was actually my son oh sent me the link. He was born in the 70s and fondly remembers when I took him too the rink and showed him a few moves. This was some fun that all ages could have in one spot. Really miss this.
Im 46 and remembering the days we did this at our park one of the older people would bring his car and speakers up there and set them out and we would be skating like this for hours.Skating laughing just enjoying each other
I am 54 and man those are good memories. Washington Blvd and Arlington Ave in LA and World on Wheels. OMG The Good Old Day's. 🔥 My people are so Beautiful. I Love you all. 😘
I miss those days going out on a Saturday night roller skating, everybody getting along with one another ,no fighting or shooting ,just having fun and then talk about it when going back to school on Monday. The good ole days. , Priceless ❤️🤗❤️
It's not over... The human body is amazing. Skating you already know keeps you fit and fucking happy as hell. When we get older people have "old age" bullshit issues due to not being ACTIVE. IF you stay active you can stay fit as hell for a very long time, 60,70, 80 years old even. you will move, be coordinated and strong, you wont' look like a teen or a 20 years old, but you will look fit and in shape and be strong. You won't be clumsy and goofy and stumbling because you gave up on living like many have.
You can still skate if I can find somewhere.I live in Philadelphia and a lot of places have closed cause people don't know how to act and people are scared to let their kids go
@@valeriereaves4096 so understandable...sad..cause it's such a good physical indoors activity workout, much safer than riding a bike outdoors, I'd almost say, but being around other like minded people gathering having fun, feeling the breeze thru your hair, is just an awesome healthy feeling & rolling to the tunes... the kids and folks are missing out........
I LOVE THIS SONG, I would play my bass guitar on this song. I still play Vaughn Mason and Crew in my car 43 years later, This song eas my teenage years.
Agree 100% But governments create hate and create wars we are tools for them to carry out that task. I hope one day we will have peace without wars . Maybe thats not in the government's best interests .
Just stumbled on this page OMG is anybody anywhere still doing this today! I used to love roller skating. Makes me wanna jump up and dance with my cane and bedroom slippers, slide across the floor 🤣🤣🤣
In God's eyes, yes we are. From a cultural stand point....not so much. The whole manifest destiny thing....and annihilation of hundreds of thousands of people over centuries ...and the current state of race relations in this country just leaves me with a different opinion. But, it's just that...an opinion boarding on belief through evidence that speaks for itself.
my son is a hockey player, for a while, but when I introduced him to old school roller skating, and this video, he was instantaneously in love with it.
Never mastered the art of skating but I did enjoy watching them old school skaters do the damn thang. 2 dollar night with a small free coke and popcorn.
I agree. I would go to the neighborhood skating rink on Friday nights and Saturday nights and skate, skate dance for six hours. 8 PM to 2 AM. I had black friends, white friends, Puerto Rican friends Italian friends. None of us had guns, nobody thought anybody, nobody got mad, six hours everybody did nothing but sweat and have fun skating. I would have a different girl every couples skate. Black girl, Italian girl, white girl, Puerto Ricans. Man, I don’t know what happened to those days, but I miss them
Yeah I get cha Billy Bob, It was hard not to have fun, just look at our wild and funky fashions back then... Where even Vogue had to proclaim "There are No Rules in The Fashion Game now!" Some of my fav's were Satin Shirts, Pirate Sleeves w/ Bright Paisley, Safari Jackets, Kurtas, Sash Belts, Pants in Bold Wide Plaids, Wide Welted Corduroy, and anything in Velvet, Crushed or otherwise. Blessed with memories of Good Times! Peace...
Classic beautiful songs! This is jams forever and stilled listening today’s! This is beautiful and exciting, everyone having a great time and happy!! I remember theses days!! No fighting or killing!! Love and respect, peace!❤❤❤😊😊😊
Let me see... That COMMENT is offends me!! I am 55 yts OLD & am a white woman. This was my era!! Our generation made freestyle skating what it is today!! White ppl knew how to jam too!! You want proof.. See link below of the SAME song & watch the white boy kill it..lol. 😝😅😝😝😅😜😜. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--PCuYhZzlNo.html
What do you mean “our people”? 🤨 Every opacity of skin pigmentation is represented in this video...and in Huntsville, everyone’s got moves like that. 🤣
Nilomi I can. Cause you know at the rink on skates that happens but if the Energy and Chemistry of the environment is positive then there’s nothing to worry about.
Life doesn't have to be complicated. A simple night of skating can change your entire outlook on life. No drama, no beefin', no hate. It's all love when we skate.
I’m a 65 yr old grandma and I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this video. I spent a lot of time at the roller rink as a teen, but we skated in circles. These kids are so awesome.
I’m with you. I would just watch in awe! We had fun at the rinks and in the clubs. I pulled this up because I had just listened to Rapper’s Delight and it reminded me of this classic. My brother was the guitarist on the studio recorded version. And when he told me that this song was getting a lot of play, I didn’t believe it was him😂 He did not join the band but went into a technical field. 😅
Thank you for bringing back such fond memories of roller skating. 🛼🥰 When I was 15 in 1985, my friends and I would meet up at the roller skating rink. This was one of our favorite songs besides other R&B, Pop, and Rock hits of the 80s.
Dude, in the baby blue hat is straight KILLING it !! Fire 🔥 Brings back memories!! Late 70s and early 80s was the roller skating craze!!! Glad to see it coming back!!
This makes me cry every time! Everyone is so fit - all shapes & sizes & ages. Most of all they are all enjoying themselves . Miss those days. I think the women in pink working in sync are absolutely amazing. I wonder where they are now. Hopefully at the same assisted living I'll end up with in 20 years- we will have fun!
To our Black Youth...Put down the guns and pick up the skates like we use to do back in the day... the antidote to frustration, worry, and negative thinking is having fun, joy, and laughter. Skating can bring all of this to your soul!
Yes, everyone needs to have employment! BUT before you can secure that job you have to go in with the Right Spirit. You have to be OPEN and RECEPTIVE to learn. I have see many of the younger youth walk around with a snarl on their faces with a mean attitude instead of having a smile and an attitude of gratitude. You got to wake up thanking God that you are alive. Some of our youth, have a Narcissistic, Aggressive Spirit. Remember, You are what you consume through your ears, eyes, and mouth. You become what you consume the most. If your dominate focus is on listening to Gangster rap music and violent video games...your spirit will reflect that. Go have some clean fun like skating. Skating and dancing can bring you joy and laughter. Replace the negativity emotions with positive emotions and you will feel better and then go look for that job! You will feel more energized and less defeated. You will have a smile on your face and have a pleasant spirit to meet the HR guy.
Probably one of my favorite videos ever! It reminds of my childhood, but it's also just fun seeing folks showin' their skills and having a good time at the ol' roller rink.
Blessings. See how we used to roll in unity and freedom. When you're having real fun for the most part it stays fun. We had fun in school, on the field, high school dances, roller skating, riding bikes, skateboarding, members only jackets, Jerry curls, music, drawing, atari, swimming, ping pong, playing pool, and on and on-what are our youth doing now besides killing each other- help us Lord
Growing up in Chicago in the 70s we took this skating sh*t serious and had alot of fun. Can we PLEASE bring roller rink skating back for real in 2022? Great skaters/dancers/athletes - cool outfits - music - syncronicity - vibes! 💥
I just asked my mom did she remember our old roller skating rink back in the day becuz it's closed!!! I had a taste for the licorice ropes and music!!! CA all day babeeee!!!!🥨🍕🥤🍔🍦🍥🍭🛼🙏🥰🥰💯💯💯💯💯
Rollertown was the name of the place we went to in my teens and twenties. My little sister was a little whip at the rink. Memories. These folks are killing it. Yes!! 👍🏽
We had it goin in Chicago for more then 7 yrs our local SKATEING RINK was jammed packed every weds night Friday sat ..it was a Great TIME to be alive..
Un morceaux d'antologie de ma musique soûl. Merci à tous ces musiciens qui nous ont fait découvrir la musique que j'adore des année 70 et 80. French kiss 💋 🇨🇵
I watch this video almost every day, taking me back to the real good ol’ days-disco, skating and dancing-weird how the guy with the black t-shirt and baseball hat dances ahead of the times! I love this video I wish I was there!!
This (grown) white boy agrees! Used to love skating, but could never do any of this stuff. So damned SMOOTH! Are people still skating like this at rinks? If so, I'm goin'. To watch!
This was a time when my knees were agile. I used them. I skated. We had a skating rink in the Bronx and everyone came and skated, and had fun. I skated in the streets, rode the bike and was so into moving. This was a great time. Used my youth well. Love this music. Children enjoy your youth by moving your body in fun like these folks are.
We need to bring back roller skating!! It was the most fun when I was little! And I'm 55. Let's do it! Good music, great people and fun😁👍👍 if I had the money we could all get down!
Growing up in the early 60s, the roller rink owner use to drive around in a old bus and picked up kids in the neighborhood and off we go to the rink for the afternoon , it was a blast!!!
I used to skate 18 hours on Saturdays, I was floor manager and taught 3 and 4 year old's lessons in the early morning, then the next 3 sessions of the day ending at 2 A.M.
God I literally could cry watching this! I absolutely loved growing up in the 70’s. Saturday night was THE night to strut your stuff! I remember getting up early on Saturday then doing my chores and making sure my favorite outfit was clean (and pressed of course) and then staying out of the firing line of my parents until 5-6:00pm when it was time to get ready. Depp haïr gel for my little spiked hair I used to rock - check. Brut cologne - check. Listerine in case I met that cheerleader I liked - check. Bubblicious - oh hell yeah. Boy these were good times. I wish the Philadelphia-South Jersey area still had rinks because they were such an integral part of who we were.
🎶Good times🎶 require "clams on the 1/2 shell and rollerskates, rollerskates"🎶😉✨ So, we all gonna "get together....about a quarter to 10?" "Leave our cares behind!" "Rumour has it that, it's getting late...." ✨⏳✨ ✨🎶✨🎶✨✌🌐✌✨🎶✨🎶✨
Just groovin' with the beat! There is nothing like what we had then. I am so glad for our time then. Right with Zapp too, More Bounce To The Ounce 🎵🎶 baby!
This video is so much fun. I love being a part of America, a part of the diversity of this place. I love African Americans, Asian Americans, Latino Americans, Native Americans -- everybody who is here right now and adding their fantastic vibe to this incredible mix. It makes me feel like dancing in the streets.
@Supreme 12860 ya didn't see many fatso back then for sure at young age, I lost my virginity outside the skating ring in the bed of a pick-up truck that was parked there dunno who's truck it was I was gettin down
This really was so much fun. Every Thursday my schoolmates my sister and I hit the rink. Classic memories. I really wish I could go back in time. Some of these skaters were so talented! No one can match them.
Im about to go buy me some skates and get down...I don't know if I'll be able to get back up..but I'm gonna have me some fun before EMS come get me LOL
