Everywhere in Somalia you will see blue sky and great temperature everyday. We are 1.5 hour to Dubai, 2 hours to Africa, 3 hours to India and in 4 hours you are in Singapore or Bangkok.
As a Kenyan, I almost had a tear watching this piece of News. Seeing our Somali brothers rebuilding and living peacefully is basically a dream come true. I have lived almost all my life seeing the fighting and watching this makes me believe everything in life is possible. Be strong there and rise in faith

There is a construction boom all over Somalia with places that were little villages 25-30 years ago turning into towns and cities. Somalia is firmly on the path of recovery and seeing our ancient capital Mogadishu regain her beautiful beauty is a joy to witness. Alhamdullilah.
Sadly, Mogadishu is not regaining her former beauty with these ugly aparatment blocks everywhere. Mogadishu has lost its unique architecture, but at least its getting safer. I just wish they went for proper architecture like it once had. Not flats and concrete buildings.
@@orwellianyoutube8978I get what you mean. Old style Mogadishu architecture was so beautiful with the elegant white washed buildings contrasting beautifully with the blue backdrop of the coast. I think that there is a massive demand for housing due to the growing population hence the apartment buildings. Have seen individual houses being built in the old style so hopefully it won't be a complete concrete jungle.

Hopefully they can help with the oil and gas extraction too and benefit from it. Mogadishu used to be known as the Pearl of the Indian Ocean and was the cleanest city in Africa before the civil war. Somalia is strategically located between Europe the middle East Africa and Asia trade routes. It has mainland Africa longest coastline with pristine white sand beaches and a great climate throughout the year of around 25 to 32 degrees. It has Africa largest fish and livestock. It has oil and gas, it has gold and diamonds and it has 10 million hectares of fertile agriculture lands and can feed not only itself but many countries. It has huge tourism potential too. From safari to mountains to jungles to valleys and beaches and historical places. We most of the country being liberated from Al Shabab terror group the remaining 30 percent will be liberated by end of the year in the strategic farmlands that are supposed feed the nation and end hunger in rural areas for once and for all. It has the most deep sea ports in Africa despite having had a war and once they they are upgraded will make Somalia a Bluewater economy making it a trade hub linking Africa with Asia and Europe. Somalia has a huge diaspora sitting on billions of dollars of assets waiting to return who gained diverse skills langues and education which will enrich the nation and help it develop fast. What a fantastic news. As a Somali in exile and who left the capital very young, it is now difficult to recognize the city and its streets. Mainly because of these construction projects taking place all over the city. However, I hope that these developers as well as the politicians have a few things in mind. 1- Don't destroy Hamar wayne with skyscrapers. Restore and renovate the decaying houses that give the area its charm and preserve its history. 2- Build on the preparedness and prevent the city center from falling into slums and congestion. 3- Preserve the coast areas and stop privatizing beaches and nearby areas. 4- Build central parks and green areas. Concrete kills the soul and Somalia really needs green growing areas. It is for the good of all.

I have no doubt that Mogadishu and Somalia in general will rise. Somali are among the most hardworking, resilient African and wonderful people. Their Enterprenuel Skill and Spirit is the reasons behind their successes, and don't forget the family bonds among Somali, is very strong like many Pastoralist you find in our beautiful Continent. My living with Somali in Holland gave me a clear understanding of the social structure of the Somali as the most ancient and unique. I cherish the love given to me by these great ancient noble people. Their love and allowing me to stay and live with them. Have shaped my wonderful journey in life. I wanted to marry a Somali woman, but it did not work out in my in time in Holland. I ended up marrying a Tanzanian.

This brought a smile to my face because 6 years ago when I was at Somalia, the architecture and infrastructure wasn’t commendable. Seeing my homeland country grow and strive really does bring a tear of joy to me.

The first year we stepped into Mogadishu one translator told me it was mission impossible but after 7 years I went back and met the same man we had gone through those tough days together he looked into my eyes with a smile and told me there is hope for peace,
