Al Lee they were all black in 2000 lol and we constantly talk shit on the navy but always said we’re not talking about you hahah . 90% were Spanish and black in my platoon . Except for the one Haitian dude that we all wanted to kill Because he fell asleep on firewatch and we would have to drag him out of bed . We would literally pull him out and set him in a chair And stick the flashlight in his hand . Just so you do your general orders correct always make sure you’re properly 😅 relieved ...... make sure you have two witnesses . Semper Fi

JS Veterans I respect the army infantry but back in 2000 when I saw they had stress cards in Boot Camp and acted all sloppy on the base where they were allowed to go to the movies and shit . I was like wtf is going on . And after I graduated Boot Camp at the airport all the Marines were still going through the inability to realize A Di was not going to jump on are ass . And watching the army recruits at the airport acting like they were at a party, showed me why I wanted to be a marine since I was 6 I would be pissed if it wasn’t hard , it was easy to me because I expect that . Being a marine station on a few army bases it’s a different world compared to a marine base . You could literally salute officers with your left hand and they won’t notice . And back in 2000 we graduated with like 36 compared to what I hear the numbers were later . Just think of the more attention you get because there’s less of you and easy to keep a eye on .

Captain Howdy -Huh, I joined in in 2002, was a 19D (Scout) at Knox, Nothing you mentioned I saw or experienced... Stress cards? Whats that? Must be a POG thing, Basic and AIT were 8/mo and had 1 night to go to the PX(no theater/anything else fun) between the 2. Only after full graduation did I get to do anything outside of training for more then a single evening. Discipline in Iraq or state-side was always strict, cant stand at attn wrong let alone salute wrong, had to have an ironed uniform, shined boots and PC had to be a specific folded way, headgear enforcement was even huge(indoors/outdoors)... That said, no base I was stationed over 10 years had marines so you were likely around non-combat MOS's. I always assumed marines were more strict and had fewer POG's, but units in the Army that were the tip of the spear were likely similar in terms of discipline. Combat troops need to create a certain hardship and strict rules to breed unity for war.
