Shami is so underrated a bowler. He deserves way more respect and mention. He has always been a top class wicket taker for India. The reason why India lost in semi final of 2019 world Cup is because of dropping Shami.
The more I watch this guy bowl, the more I fall in love with his bowling. India hasn't produced a more textbook seamer than Shami. Everything from his run-up, seam position, line and length, pace, follow through is so technically sound. Hope he goes on to take 400 test wickets for India because he has the potential.
That wasn't a worthy hat-trick. .the opponents were in neck deep trouble and they were tailenders ..they wouldn't know what to do...and all he had to do was take advantage because they were only left with hitting the ball to win at that point

When he debuted against Pakistan along with Bhuvi, I was listening to live commentary on All India Radio. There was a sense of hype for these two guys and they proved it to be real in their careers.

Irfan Pathan was a beat bowler at that time but wasim akaram told him to do some changes in his action after that upto now he never came back to indian team zaheer khan never went to any Pakistani bowlers because they are playing for there own teams at the same time and shami I don't think so upto now he went to any pakistan coach or player
If this guy gets the opportunity to play more than 100 tests for India will become the first Indian pacer to get 500 test wickets but i dont think he will get the opportunity
He is a great bowler with ability to seam the ball both ways at high pace around 140-145 kmp/h. What's contrasting about him compared to other bowlers is his dead upright seam which he hits most of the time. Only other bowler that I can recall who had a perfect seam position is Zaheer Khan. They can both reverse the old ball too at pace.
Umesh was way quicker than Shami, but over the years Umesh has become more of a line & length bowler. Also Umesh is judged on his IPL performances, in international cricket Umesh has always been good so far.

No, he's not failed, he was dropped bcoz of knee injury. And after 2 years ago, he was back in cricket but just for 5 matches he got another knee injury. After both knee operation and lots of hard work, he's back in 2019 just 2 month before world cup.
