Just because it’s a cinder block wall it doesn’t mean you can just forget about it. This wall is absorbing so much moisture that it is leaking into the beauty salon and causing considerable damage.
A wall like this requires a building envelope maintenance program to prevent moisture ingress. Check out how much moisture is trying to get out of the wall!!

I still find it confounding that you end every video by saying you post weekly. These videos are months apart. Great quality video and very interesting find! I had water bubble out the latex paint one time behind a water pipe leak. Looked very similar to when you poked that one with the moisture meter and water trickled out. I also found it interesting that a lot of points in the concrete block where it looked visibly wet actually registered less moisture on the meter than areas that looked relatively dryer.

Down vote for wasting everybody's time and not even saying how the water became an issue in the first place. You just used this video to point out the problem of some random building with no advice/solutions/etc.

I'm not clear how the moisture is getting into the wall. Is it rain hitting the wall or rain entering the block at the top of the wall?
@user-zz4eu6tm2t

Its not exactly clear to me as well, but I assume that the gap in between the cement bricks wasnt sealed correctly or with the right mortar. To me it doesnt looked sealed properly

It is coming in through the change in materials. Where the brick meets the concrete should be a flashing. All changes in materials should be met with a flashing to disperse water.

@@colintapping261 It would be interesting to find out what they eventually did about the moisture problem.

That's an awfully high cb wall with no extra ribbing, no wonder it's settling. Most always a high masonry wall has pilasters at invervals to strengthen it.

Did anyone backtrack to see if the builder is still building or if they built similar structures? Someone's life might be at serious risk...like a daycare or hotel...just saying...heroes go beyond what's expected...not neglected!

Hi Mr. Munro, I hope you can help me out. Have recently built a 3 storey comm/res bldg. Its has been raining for 5 days and the walls started to moist.. we have already coated the CHB with skim coat, primer, and 2 layers of semi gloss paint.. do we still need to top it with elastomeric paint?

Hello Tom. I live in a industrial style condo with concrete ceiling and some walls. My ceiling continues to leak small drops depending on the weather. I have a dehumidifier but at times does not control the leaking. Any tips would be so appreciated? Thank you for the content!!!

Hi Tom, do you recommend 6” roof hinges on the sides of a residential new construction? Is that decorated or good preventive addition? Thanks.

I have an air conditioning drain tube (10 inches) coming from the basement through the front brick wall. The ground has been wet where it drains. I noticed that the block wall is wet near the bottom inside the basement. Is it from the outside drainage? Do I need to lengthen the air conditioner drain hose???

I live in an apartment with concrete wall that has patches in wall above the window and when it rains it leaks water. The builders came in with a moisture reader which read 55% moisture should there be a concern about water inside the wall and mold because i see small black spots have started to appear in the area of the leak

Most likely not, was probably not properly maintained at some point. Like Tom said also probably some structural issues and definitely some envelope issues.
