Hi I'm Tom Munro. As a Certified Home Inspector (CHI) and a Certified Commercial Inspector (CCI) . I have created this #youtube tv channel to educating home owners, buyers and sellers about their homes. I am creating videos designed to help you identify problems and maintain your homes through examples, tips and demos on my inspections. Got a question? Just Ask.
I have been a builder for 40 years. This house is a complete POS! And the interior design is gross. 2.4mil? Haha how bout 100,000 maybe!!! No pride in the work at all. The general contractor is a greedy bitch!
There’s no such thing as an “inspector. It’s all connected. The real estate people recommend someone that the builder has recommended or they’ve used for years and inspectors cannot be sued ..just like builders. Builders change the name of their LLC declare bankruptcy and leave their customers with garbage. Builders should have to carry malpractice insurance for the MOST expensive thing you’ll ever buy. Inspectors that miss things like …the fireplace is useless ….. too bad you can’t sue them. Housing is one giant scam
I think you made a typo on the price. I think you meant to say $240,000. I know its easy to leave or add a zero by accident. But still liked your content
You can install power boxes outside. Are you living under a rock? They design panels outside all the time, the power companies even sign off on this. They make panels exclusively to be used outdoors. Maybe this home didn't use the right type of box, but no you aren't a super hero for noticing this. Maybe you need to learn a little more before you start making videos shaming things done in house that actually aren't even wrong
My first thought is always this....if there are obvious issues you can see in plain sight....just imagine what you cant see. We live in a world where quality is way down and prices have never been higher.
So typical of the construction industry these days. Gone is "Pride in workmanship". TBH most of these guys have no idea what they are doing and no supervision. All of that should have been caught on a walkthrough by the contractor prior to presenting the property for sale. On and on!
Wow - that is some of the most garbage construction I've seen in a long time. What awful work. What CAN'T you see if what you can see is so bad. Hopefully this contractor doesn't build many more homes. Poor owners.
This home may not have had its final inspection from the city. If it did shame on the building inspector for letting all this minor crap pass. Didn't see anything serious just small cosmetic stuff.
You have no idea what you are talking about. The only serious issue you found was the grates on the basement window wells being bolted, but that may not be a code violation depending on how the basement is configured. If the house has proper building envelope construction, which you would have no idea how to determine, none of those gaps mean a damn thing. Home inspections are absolutely useless!!
Brother in law is a contractor. He told me "these fancy houses are shoddily built". He was painting 10k worth of cabinets and said they were home Depot quality". He also told me about bad tile jobs, lack of insulation, things being warped.
Just hearing all that traffic would be a No-go for me! Where you have that much traffic you have accidents and motorcycles & trucks & deisel fuel exhaust so nearby. 🤬 Especially considering that gruesome price tag.
I think it would be very helpful to also what these people were paid for their work , I’m betting money that as bad as the work is they still got one hell of a deal. Or you can follow some of these skill trades home show how and where their living with the money they make on these jobs.
why even design a house to have a window well like that into a basement----too easy for a murdered to make entry..even with the bolt, they can take it out
