I love my Fireteam! BTW a great mod for it are the M2C Racing ZRS shock caps... it eliminates the bladder and mostly eliminates the rear end's tendency to bounce upwards uncontrollably.
Those are just emulsion caps. Hot racing has had them for a long time. They're not great for all-around driving. Integy piggybacks emulsion shocks are much better and have fully adjustable rebound and compression via knobs. You can turn the stock caps to emulsion bladderless shocks too. 4 x16mm O-rings then drill and tap a bleed hole on the cap.
I love SCTs, so I got the Mojave v2. I've beat the brakes off that thing. One of the toughest rigs. That being said, my buddy has a fireteam.. also a tough rig. If you understand the strengths of each rc and understand how to drive them, you can't go wrong with either. Really it's up to your preference, but both are really fun.
Mojave for me...the way it drifts on dirt is amazing...its not all about big air...now the udr looks better but u can only send it once then onto the operating table lol...
The ebreak. Makes the fire team better then mojave but you don't need it the truck take conyers better then mojave without the ebreak it's less to roll over I like both if I had to pick fireteam more stable
All you fireteam haters the man just toll you which one is better the mojave tends to roll over in sharp turns just like the udr.the fireteam is very responsive in conyers no flipping over ask me the fireteam is the udr and mojave all in one truck
Imo the FT is a better basher like doing backflips etc but I'm more into racing and more realistic driving experience so I'd have to go with the Mojave 👍🏻
a Talion would have been another good one to compare these with, i've driven all of these and the Talion was the most fun, especially with all the EXB parts and belted tires. the mojave tires on a Talion are awesome too though
Because your videos are so awesome, I drove quite a bit out of my way on a regular road trip that I make to see your store and track. A Main hobbies is awesome! Got some great advice on tires and picked some up. I look forward to visiting again soon. I wish you had a store near me. Brilliant.
Cool! Glad you could come over and visit our shop and track. Hopefully some people were getting sideways with the drifters. Where were you coming from? -Brett
@@AMain_Hobbies Hi Brett! Thank you for the reply. I am regularly between San Jose CA and Medford OR. So your store is between but with a diversion. Totally worth it though. What an awesome store. Next time I am brining my Sledge with me and I want to run it on your track!! Would love to meet you.
there is no comparison each rc is very different. In tires, chassis, body's there will be many people who like the fireteam. but with time. The same thing will happen to the already forgotten axial yeti xl. If you look closely it's almost the same design just for some different arrangements. In my case I have never liked that type of design. I have had bashers, scts drifting rcs drag rcs and the ones that I liked the most are the scts like the udr and arrma mojave and the super baja rey v1 and 2. and the baja rey 1/10 scale. There will never be a comparison in these two different designs. That's what I think in my humble opinion.🤷
Have to disagree. Wider is better imo. Plus, Fireteam has much more tire options available. And then the biggest reason the Fireteam is better, the current price of $399 shipped.
I love my fireteam, It was originally a kraton exb so I have the exb diffs, aluminum bulkheads and other upgrades, it’s a beast, handles and flies so well too, I like the Mojave but it jumps like crap, it parachutes like all sct.
The fire team is awful swirly the Mojave has better control I've had them both but what needs to happen to the fire team needs to have the suspension Springs tighten up a lot better for control there's too much slop the Mojave needs inner fenders to keep all the drit out of there lol 😆
i have them both , the fireteam is the best especially on kraton tires . For offroad i like the backflips. i removed the rear brake , i will try it on a two wheel verison when i find a good use one.
after a full year of running both , this is not a fare comparison. the fireteam is easily the best out of these two. for more power without any modifications put the kraton 8s gen 1 system in there. if in aint now it will elevate to your favorite RC
Yeah, no kidding. I'd buy the Mojave solely because you get a usable body out of the box. Fireteam looks dumb and offensive. I don't play with G.I Joes for 35 years now.
Grabbed this when Arrma put it on sale for $399. I mean just fantastic of Arrma and Horizon when they do this for their fans. Just amazing price drop sales on their great vehicles unlike dumb Traxxas that gives free light kits on over priced vehicles….big whoop Traxxas….smh We just run and slide outs around on gravel and loose dirt. It’s just awesome!
I hope there are some good bodies for the Fireteam in the near future. Still no good options that for correctly, although that F250 looked really good.
Fireteam is the best driver I've experienced. I'm relatively new to rc, if you discount my neighbor showing off optima mids and turbo optima mids. Never got to run those. My vorza buggy rides better than my slash, original tmaxx electrified just likes to break plastic shafts. Fireteam body takes rolls and crashes exceptionally well, but it doesn't want to roll, even at speed.
Just putting this out there. The Fireteam body might be heavy, but it greatly contributes to the durability of it. I let my wife drive my Fireteam and she ran full speed into a light pole. She hit it so hard that the pinion gear flew off yet the chassis never bent at all.
Had a Mojave exb with Spektrum 8s electronics, nearly impossible to control, fun but requires lots of skill, the Fireteam is my favorite, you can drive it like a jerk and still keep it in line, only thing I did to it was put a 21T pinion gear,it does wheelies at will, blindingly fast.
i just dont like the fireteam part of the fireteam.. prefer a cool light weight body I much prefer my castle powered 8s 1717 in my built up kraton exb.. runs all day long on 6s on the back wheels... and good for 10 min use in Austalia on 8s the way i have it geared
The $150 bucks extra is due to the Talion being an EXB rtr, so more durable components when compared to the Kraton rtr. It also comes with a better transmitter
@@jeffbarton4398 man I’ve been wanting a Talion for a while now. I have a Kraton 8S and an ERevo 2.0 so I’m not sure if it would make sense to get another truggy… but man it does look fun
