the plane wasnt tail heavy at all... on warbirds you use up elevator to taxi to keep the tail on the ground. you release it when youre ready for take off... he did not hence why the tail never came up and the take off was piss poor. tail heavy planes dont fly very long before they crash because of how uncontrollable they are. sometimes if youre slighty tail heavy you will only have the instability during slow flight. he got that plane too slow on landing hence why it just dropped and landed hard. if the plane was tail heavy, when he got it that slow, it wouldve become very unstable.
