Thank you for watching this short video on some incredible Moki Steps!
It would take a lot of courage to climb up these steps! Moki Steps, sometimes spelled Moqui, are hand carved steps that are used to access up and down certain areas. These steps, found in Utah (we will be making a post on our website about these!), are probably over 1,000 years old!
The Ancestral Pueblo people were a very industrious and a smart people, living all over this area. They needed means to access harder parts of these canyons, so they created many spots with steps and handholds.
This area doesn't look steep, but if you look at the last drone shot in this video, you can see that it was indeed very steep! Due to many hundreds of years of erosion, many of the steps have disappeared or smoothed. This is a cultural and historical site, so please visit with respect. Just take lots of pictures!
Thank you for joining us on this adventure! We have many more fun and interesting places to share with you soon!

I think ‘ancient ladder drone footage’ would get heavier traffic but, your editing is done well in these older videos.

Very cool! Did you make photos? Could there be some rock art: (stop video, full screen) at 0:22 lower right corner, like a flash and perhaps 2 human figures (all in black), below that a human holding a speer? (very small). And at 0:26, middle right, in the flat(?) background, some black forms. perhaps just wrong, but....

The people would have lived up on the plateau and farmed down on the valley floor, as the soil would have been quite fertile. Living up high would keep them safe from floods and easier to defend.

I wonder why they chose not to live in the plain?
