“Think of electrons as waves” Instantly has epiphany on why people always say bonds store energy/are on higher energy levels. 4 years of chemistry and it only took 1 minute of this video for me to put that all together I love this channel
@@jasminemichael3654 Quantum mechanics tells us that we can treat electrons (and other subatomic particles) as both particles and waves. This is called wave particle duality. When learning chemistry, we are often introduced to electrons as tiny particles, but this limited view makes some concepts very difficult to understand. For example, it is hard/impossible to describe electrons as having higher energy levels, or having constructive/destructive interference if we only think of them as particles, and not waves. By looking at them as waves, those concepts become clear. (Destructive interference is just the peaks and troughs of the waves cancelling out, for instance).
A General Chem course I am doing this freshman year of my degree just covered this in class and I couldn't understand properly. You, sir, are a life saver!!! Thanks a lot!
When ever I search for any topic for my college study and find out that man made a video for it , it just bring me relief like: don't worry I'll under stand it Man this is my third year at special chemistry department and every single year I count on you in many things So Big Respect❤
@@thomasmuller8558 yep my highschool also has inorganic chemistry advanced and mains courses where this was part of the chemical bonding unit. It involves more things like hybridizations, vsepr, fajans, diopole moment in that nit itself.
Thanks for making it possible to understand! Chemistry is probably my weakest subject and while all this makes no sense to me in the text book, it makes complete sense after having watched this video. You really saved me so THANK YOU! Keep up these amazing videos!!!!
You are a such a great teacher at explaining complexity and turning it into simplicity so we can understand it clearly. Thank you for doing such a great job!
Sir I am 10 and I ask of you that you could cover the very interesting topic of quantum mechanics quantum physics and quantum theory please and thank you.
Thank you sir...... Anytime I come across your video especially the ones concerning the issue I have with some topics.... I just know that after watching your video I won't find anything difficult to understand in that topic.
Really I love your teaching... Every other channel asks for subs Or likes every mintute Or two.. But i love to hear your explanation with no such interruptions... Thanks for making my base of chemistry strong 💕
This video is great dude! This relates so many concepts I've seen over the years in a simple and understandable manner, so that everyone can learn the topic easily.
Your videos are why I have not completely failed Chemistry I, prior knowledge I had before taking Chem I, zero. This is a lifesaver! I have a B right now in online chemistry cause of this channel.
Professor Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for an excellent analysis into Molecular Orbital Theory in AP/General Chemistry. Drawing pictures along with practice problems is a fantastic initial step into understanding Bonding/Antibonding Molecular Orbitals in Modern Chemistry. The explanations about Bond Order and Bond Length/Stability/Energy are awesome from start to finish. This is an error free video/lecture on RU-vid TV with the Organic Chemistry Tutor.
i hate our college, they were very lazy during the pandemic and i couldn't understand shit during the online classes,i had a big problem understanding MOT, and this guy has really helped me understand it very well and the way he teaches is just amazing, i wish he was my teacher
it’s been like 4.5 years since I took a chemistry class, but I’m taking Organic Chemistry this year (randomly decided to be pre-med) and you’re videos are about to be my lifeboat
i have a class tmr for which i’m supposed to know this stuff, and the notes aren’t helping at all cuz there’s no explanation on em, just graphs i don’t understand. luckily this guy is here to save the day 😂
THANK YOU!!! Thank you thank you for all the amazing work you do!!! I had no IDEA how to read the diagrams in my book but this just made everything make sense. Definitely telling my lab group about your channel!
You are explaining it very well....tbh. but you are making complete arrows man..... Which represents an electron.... They are actually represented by half arrows.
On the right side when you represented electron density between these two atoms you should put on the one of these atoms opposite sign i suppose with the idea to distinguish these two types i think?
Contacted every teacher and watched every video of this topic no one helped me on question how 2 molecular orbitals are made by joing two atomic orbitals
