New subscriber here. Fabulous videos, excellent content ! So glad I found your channel. Have had owls and gouldians in the past. Just got a couple of budgies at the moment but looking at getting some finches again soon. Can I ask where you go your large flights cage from please 😊

Hey Tina. Thank you so much for your kind words & for subscribing 😁 What Finches are you hoping to get? My flight cage was all hand built & is inside an 11x11ft summerhouse

Morning ! Well I would like gouldians and owls again but the cheeky zebs are also catching my eye ! So 😅 am a little torn !!! I have shown hubby your cage ❤ what I do know is I want enclosed wipeable sides, separation/divider and if it is stackable ….great because then I can have all 3 types !!

@@tinacox14 I'll be making a video in the not to distant future on how I built my flight but yes, wipeable sides are a must. The inside of my flight is lined with antimicrobial cladding (like what they use in operating theatres), so easily wipeable & resistent to bacteria growth

what are some differnece between caring for a canary compared to other finch species?
@FinchManDave
@FinchManDave 3 месяца назад
I've never owned a Canary but I know they can be territorial & may even be aggressive towards smaller Finches. There are so many types of finches you can own as pets, so care & info for each can be extremely varied in most areas. Diet, housing, breeding etc. The main difference I would say between the two is that Canaries can live on their own, whereas finches are more flock orientated & prefer company

My dad breeds these and he gave me 2 of them that are still baby colours (Brown). They can fly, but haven’t changed colour yet. I already know one of them is male because it’s already making that chattering call they make, but I’ve offered them seed, greens (Lettuce and Carrots) and egg, but they won’t eat anything except the seed and the rest just goes bad untouched. Should I keep giving them these? Or just stick to the seed? They seem to be perfectly healthy just eating the seed alone

Is it common for birds to die during molt?
@FinchManDave
@FinchManDave Год назад
Unfortunately, yes - it can happen. I lost a Gouldian in January this year while I was away for 3 weeks. I had a bird sitter in but he came into a heavy moult literally the day after I left & obviously I hadn't prepared for it nor did I prepare my bird sitter for it. It couldn't be helped but it was an extremely tough lesson for me to learn
