I don’t think parents have to necessarily earn respect but I think as a parent if you’re disrespecting your child you can’t except them to respect you
@jojojohnson2000
@jojojohnson2000 9 месяцев назад
As a parent myself you do have to earn it. It’s not their job to love us back or respect us back respect is earned regardless of the situation or relationship. It’s my job to love and respect my daughter so hopefully she loves me and respects me back. Treat your kids like humans and you should be good.

Agree 💯💯💯💯 as a parent I try my best to give plenty examples of how I expect them to treat me and each other as siblings. I also lower my level of sensitivity to try and understand where they are coming from before I decide I’m offended by something they’ve said or done. Definitely a struggle lol I do have 4 and three are girls lol exhausting but I love them all to pieces

What exactly is it that parents did to automatically garner unconditional respect? Because you can’t use the wall I brought you into this world, but that was your choice and it wasn’t something that should get held against me because I didn’t have a choice in the matter.

As person who went through some simple truma you have to earn respect for example My stepfather will always and forever have my respect over my own dang who I haven’t seen in bout 12 years no phone calls no nun. Barely he generally lost most of any respectful I got toward him

He invalidates everything they say. Than make a sarcastic response refocusing on his petty excuses, he is definitely an all eye oñ me poor Dad, your asking for some remorse for things I don't think I did wrong. He over talks everyone, he can't hear and talk at the same time. He is so busy thinking of his rebuttal. He won't hear them. Deep down he feels smarter than everyone, that makes it impossible to learn and grow

I think the father has a differing ability and has never been evaluated or diagnosed for treatment. It’s fucked up because a lot of minorities don’t get the help they need and just go through life the best way they can cope with it. Not even realizing they have a problem.

That mother of Kyeshi is a very poor example of what a mother should be. What mother would say such hurtful things to their child? Words cut like a knife, and you never forget those hurtful words. The mother acts like a child. She lashes out at Kyeshi and hurts her because she is hurt. So childish! My heart goes out to Kyeshi and her children.

The mom is kind of narcissistic... Seems like when she doesn't get her way or communication, she says and does hurtful things to the daughter. And instead of being apologetic and changing our simply setting boundaries and distance, she's blaming the daughter. It's like she hates her, but doesn't want to be without her.

Just by the pattern of how her mom is speaking and body language!! Yeh moms is very manipulative and dangerous and has very dark energy 😢I believe tht daughter it’s all in her face and trust Karoma knows moms Ah bluff!! Smh 🤦🏽‍♂️ instead of taking accountability and listening to what your child actually is saying and take the best and do better to make it better! But hurt people hurt people and without seeking God it turns normal 🤦🏽‍♂️she gives me Aquarius ♒️ energy! Very aloof she’s running and can’t control her emotional reactions! The way she was scrambling mentally on stage!! Idk 🤷🏽‍♂️

That “mother” is very good at playing the victim and “I don’t know what I did” then call her a liar and even in a text saying I’ll tell ppl you’re lying if you say anything and that’s all she’s done on the show. She showed her @$$ and got caught. She’s offered therapy for herself and all she can say is “she won’t change”, it’s literally therapy for HER, not for her to keep controlling her daughter. Sounds like she doesn’t think she’s an issue and that it’s everyone else and not her.

At this point the father should just go on about his life until they are ready to forgive. Because they all in hell right now. He doesn't want to accept responsibility for what he didn't do for them, and they want to keep talking about what he didn't do. It's just a circle, they going round and round. Wait for the moment when everyone's ready. Been there.

I have very mixed feelings about Donel… I see the hurt he caused his children and relate, but I also see that he feels unheard and that seems to trigger him. He also seems to be on the spectrum bc of his lack of eye contact & his son hinting/saying that he has a temper. I hope he gets help bc it seems like he does want a relationship and that the exuses are genuinely explanations to him.

I feel like they are not giving their father the opportunity to see that he could be a changed person. They are also still stuck on the past. they keep reiterating the future, but they keep stating the past based on that’s what they’ve been shown from him, but for you to see something new and somebody’s telling you, there can be some thing different and that’s why they keep feeling like he’s making excuses. They need to just give him a clean slate an opportunity to be in their lives. Yes, it’s going to take time to build that line of communication and trust. but they also have to give him that opportunity to build that, and not just keep bringing up the past of him not being there.

Ugh. Donal is tiring. It’s everyone’s fault but his. 3 kids and no relationship with any of them. He brought her a coat and some shoes and expects to be given credit for it. That is the tiniest bare MINIMUM Donal. A STRANGER can give your daughter a coat and shoes. The Salvation Army can do that. He CANT even look anyone in the eye, he’s looking at the crowd….won’t make eye contact with his daughter of Karamo. Cause he knows he’s guilty of something.

He could have undiagnosed mental or substance issues. Either way he came to the show for help. Hopefully he AND his kids accept it. He wasn't given the tools he needed to cope with other people let alone himself. That smile he gave reminded me of a child with downs syndrome if im being honest. But, he seems to have a teenager or younger mindset and personality. I hope he gets the help he needs so he can be there for his children. They deserve answers and a way to heal. Her mom wants to leave the past in the past cuz she isn't inocent eigther. Also it seems like she is being too controlling over her daughter and trying to tell her how to be a mom that's irritating, My ex's mom was like that from day one when I had my daughters all it did was make me want to get as far away from her as I could. If the daughter is messing up as a mother then I understand but she doesn't have to tell you she's going somewhere she's an adult. I mean it would be nice of her to tell you but she doesn't have to. Being a mom at 15 she had to have made mistakes and obviously some of those mistakes are coming back to haunt her because her daughter felt some kind of way about it. If you're the mother you have to act like the mother you Don't put your hands on your child when they're adults and not expect to get hit back. Mom is imature also. You need to give respect to get it. He is 💯 % right mom didn't have the tools there for daughter was never taught the tools eigther.

I never thought of my siblings, who weren't for my dad, as half siblings. I love them equally.

First, parents should not disrespect their children. Generally respect is earned. In terms of parents, however, children should respect their mothers for the months she held them safely in their bodies and for enduring pain (before, during, and after birth) to bring them into the world. Both fathers and mothers should be respected for ensuring to the best of their abilities that their children eat regularly, have clothing and a place to sleep, and receive education. Remember, though, respect is not love. Respect is a baseline from which love develops. Nonetheless, parents can lose the respect of their children by verbal and physical abuse, neglect, and betrayal.

As I get older I realize rejection is protection. Just imagine ehat your lives would have been like living with this man as your parent.😮

I knew somebody like that dad, who had an undiagnosed mental illness, that was obvious to everyone else, but the person. Grand, but empty promises, over speaking rants, avoidance and excuses for everything. I genuinely feel sorry for that dad and his children, as they're not only dealing with an absentee dad, but one whose dealing with mental health too.

Hurt & pain can be so difficult for individuals to let go of, but that's what happens from abuse.

Young lady you’re not the only one in that situation. Sometimes it’s better leave well enough alone. People in your situation just image instead of getting hurt.

They're close enough in age to be siblings so I'm not surprised they're having these issues. The dad seems like he has some serious psychological issues
